When you take the official DMV CDL test, you’ll be surprised by how similar it is to the practice exam. That’s because the questions come from the official Handbook. The questions might be worded slightly differently, but the meaning is the same, so you will be ready when you walk into the DMV on the day of the test. Good luck!
Just passed my test in Virginia. This video works is perfect for the school bus endorsements, and I also took the passanger endorsements. Most of the questions are not on the test. So I will recommend you look for other videos for the passenger endorsements.
This is very helpful, out of 115 questions I've only missed about 5 or 6. Which means I am more than ready for my Air Brakes Permit Test! I am going to continue looking at these videos in prep to my written exam scheduled a few weeks from now! I am so confident I will pass on the first try!
ARE YOU SURE QUESTION 41 IS CORRECT? THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE THAT THE OPTION WITH THE HIGHER AMOUNT OF SLEEP WOULD MAKE YOU THREE TIMES MORE LIKELY TO FALL ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL. PLEASE ADVISE.
Question: Why should we hook the emergency and air lines up before we back up under a trailer, as stated in #57? They didn't teach me this in school, but if this question is correct according to DOT, then that's fine.
You must lock the trailer brakes before backing beneath the trailer, which requires that you first confirm that the trailer brakes are operating. After testing the trailer brakes, connect the emergency and service airlines.
Blocking is used in the front, back, and/or sides of a piece of cargo to keep it from sliding. Blocking is shaped to fit snugly against cargo. It is secured to the cargo deck to prevent cargo movement.
Whether or not you load and secure the cargo yourself, you are responsible for: Inspecting your cargo. Recognizing overloads and poorly balanced weight. Knowing your cargo is properly secured and does not obscure your view ahead or to the sides. Knowing your cargo does not restrict your access to emergency equipment.
Sleep debt, also known as sleep deficit, is the difference between how much sleep you need and how much you actually get. When you sleep fewer hours than your body needs, you have a sleep debt.
The following distance is calculated as one second for ten feet of vehicle length, plus an extra second if you are moving faster than 40 mph. As a result, for a 40-foot vehicle going at 50 mph, the following distance of 5 seconds should be left.
The trailer hand valve should be used only to test the trailer brakes. Do not use it in driving because of the danger of making the trailer skid. The foot brake sends air to all of the brakes on the vehicle (including the trailer(s)).
explanation: Increasing application pressure to hold the same speed means the brakes are fading. You should slow down and use a lower gear. The need for increased pressure can also be caused by brakes out of adjustment, air leaks, or mechanical problems.
