@Black-eq8es That's a good question.. there may be better options for you locally that are cheaper as well. Because if you have warranty issues not sure how difficult it will be to address.
@@ReelOne was looking for a rod around that $200 price range and I came across this one since everyone says that the St. Croix makes really good rods, with the king master rods, how did you find it better than the Fuji?, thank you for replying to me even though the video is from many years ago
@@Black-eq8esNot familiar with King Master rods sorry. St. Croix rods are really good and the warranty is solid. You may want to get one and try for yourself. At least you'll have that first hand experience.
@@ReelOne you advise me to take the mojo yak now because I see that from the videos everyone talks really well about it, how did you manage to break it the 2nd time, the first time also from how you showed in the video you handled the rod too much and therefore it's normal but the second cowardice how did you do it if I may ask
Glad you're safe bro. I also hate when the wind just doesn't do what it should. I also have a TORQEEDO, and my fin drive. But constant 15 mph and the gusts are usually higher, I'm turning back. Or depending on the lake I'm on. I usually have protected coves to still enjoy the day. And if I'm in a tournament, I'll find somewhere well protected and give up my spot. Rather be on my kayaks another day. Or not flip and ruin a day, or accessories. 🙏 🌊 🎣
@@ianm6856 Depends. Nothing wrong with having an extra rod or two lol. The benefit to the Yak rod is its handle. For bank fishing you'd probably prefer a long rod with a longer handle. Thanks Ian!
I just peed your video you were right on top of it the lily pads The One that got away the condos weren't built yet when you were there they're built now they're gated I went to the gate or I was allowed to yeah you're right on top of them man
Across the bridge from Lowe's over by the apartments I did it off the bank to check my Instagram you'll see the videos it's nuts brother nuts and I got two other holes off of a road that we both know by a prairie somewhere that is dried up and they're just swarming in there their monsters it's amazing
Shame you stopped doing videos man I like you chill quiet when fishing to have us mentally feel as if we were there all those weirdos lojo Jon b all them are wack af hopefully you keep doing it bro
I 'upgraded' to a Hobie Outback BC I needed the pedals and rudder. But the Bonafide was superior in stability and comfort. Now they just announced the new bonafide with pedals 🤷🏾♂️
Im a Registered Nurse and Rona has been kicking my ass! Just at work... Still fishing and hopefully have more time to return to making videos! I appreciate you. Stay Safe!
@@ReelOne you are a hero and I thank you for your hard work. I hope your community has been taking care of you, too. I shudder at what you have had to endure as you care for those who didn't have protection either through lack of opportunity or neglect and ignorance.
Hey bro, glad you're okay, and the yak is fine. I Have a HOODOO Tempest 120 Hybrid. It's a PDL and Takes the trolling motor. I keep everything tethered, all my emergency lights, headlamp, extra water, keys wallet, etc on a good size dry bag, in my front hatch. I also have a piece of foam zip tied on all my rods above the reel, and my net, I lined it with foam. I've never flipped yet lol..I have probably 12 pad eyes installed on my deck. This is my 2nd season. Last year I spent installing and testing all my addons and accessories more than fishing. But it happens to us all. Be safe bro. Beautiful large mouth you caught. God bless 🤟🎣🙏🙏
I have that same exact model my only complaint is i wish the screw for the reel seat was towards the tip not the butt so when im holding the rod while reeling my fingers could sit on the winn grip instead of the threads
Hey Bud, great video! Just a heads up, that kayak cart would be even easier to manage the kayak if you get it further in towards the middle. Becomes almost weightless
Nice video. Like how you showed the C-Tug, and how you used it, to get to your fishing water. Im going to purchase a SS 107, and now a C-Tug to go along with it; so your video very helpful. Keep up the great videos, and hope your able to get on the water, as much as possible. Take Care
@@ReelOne No problem! This damn winter needs to hurry up and get going 😂 Bite has been super tough here in jersey this winter. People looking at me like I’m a lunatic fishing in the snow lmaooo. Getting desperate to use all the new stuff I’ve bought during this down time 😂 Take care friend!
At 17:55 , that bridge looks awesome. I'm surprised you didn't go underneath and fish that whole are. Where is that bridge?? Wish we had fishing like that here in Greece. My dream is to get a truckcamper with a kayak and travel and fish the Florida coast. Great vid.
I like this rod a lot but I'd prefer something with just a bit more backbone when I fish waters where bigger fish lurk. For average bass (LM and SM) or walleye fishing away from cover or with little cover other than weeds it's a pleasure to fish with though. It casts light lures well. Looking forward to trying it on some inshore fish this winter but thinking I'll use a stouter rod mostly. I'm lucky, I have a lake house 30 minutes from the St Croix factory so I'm able to stop in frequently and check for sales, rummage through their B and C rods and attend their annual customer appreciation days. Great small town company that makes great products and stands behind them.
Nice video! I like that you didn't edit out some of the frustrating parts of your day. Keeps it "reel." I've done quite a bit of freshwater yak fishing the last couple years but just one day (guided) of inshore. One thing I've found is that a pedal yak really frees up my hands and makes for fewer "oops" moments. Waiting for covid to abate so I can fish Mosquito Lagoon this winter or in the spring. Hopefully I can get on some fish like you did. Keep up the good work. Subscribed.
Would you know the difference between this rod and the regular (non kayak) spinning mojo? I'm thinking about getting one and I have a bit of a dumb dillema. I exclusively fish from shore, but I like the look of the kayak rod better. Any differences between them that would make the regular one better for shore fishing as opposed to this one?
The main difference is the handle I presume. The Mojo Yak handle/grips are Winn Grips and are significantly shorter. They are designed so you have a little more control and the handle doesn't get caught up in your PFD. This is an awesome rod that you could definitely use from shore but keep in mind about the shortened handle.
@@ReelOne Thanks. I heard you mention that in the video, but thought there might be more. I like the way the Winn grips look better than the cork. I know that might sound like a dumb reason to chose one over the other, but if both are the same then I guess that could be the tie breaker. Thanks for the help.
@@TheFishingNomad I love Winn Grips and believe them to be superior to cork esp if your hands will be getting wet. Also they look better and last longer
@@GregBrittain I no longer own the rod, it broke again months later. I contacted St Croix and had it upgraded to the AVID Inshore. Looking at the St Croix website it has the lengths, I believe it shows a little over 7 inches.
