Hello there. I've been watching your videos very entertaining. My family and I are planning a trip to Lassen this coming weekend. We are camping at the volcano county rv park. I am a bass fisherman but my wife and girls (18 and 8) have never fished before. I am new to the area we have never been and I was wondering if you could recommend some spots near the rv park. I really appreciate your time, hopefully we catch something. Thank you!!
Just checked and DFW hasn’t planted at Battle, Deer or Coldwater creek this week/for a while. If you’re in staying in Mineral I would consider Lake Almanor at the Hamilton Branch about 45mim away or even a few spots closer to Burney up north (Baum Lake, Burney & Hat Creek near Cassel). All are being planted this week. I’m deciding whether I’ll be in Burney or Tahoe this weekend. Good luck

Hey man, very cool , hey what part of independence Creek u at?, I usually fish at grey meadows campground, the place you were at looks very nice 💯 n good fishing,id like head up there next week, GOD willing 🙏🏼
Look up Independence Sand Traps on Google maps. Just follow the creek near the airport. I find the actual locations mediocre, basically canals but you still get the Sierras in the background. Much prefer the surroundings in the canyons or lake basins. Good luck
My GF and I were on a two person kayak there once. She hooked the largest trout I had ever seen in my life! She fought it with two pound main line and I had to paddle the kayak just to keep up with the fish. She finally brought it beside the kayak but the leader broke. The net I had was way too small in any case. We were pretty much dead center at the far end of the lake.
That’s awesome! I’ve hooked plenty at Silver but never anything over 2 pounds. One of these days I’ll have to get a boat so I can fish the far side of the lake. I’ve fished on that side but I feel like it is too shallow from shore.
The Owens at Browns is such a nice stretch to walk. Unfortunately, it may be one of the most pressured waters in the Sierras with the campers, locals and out of town enthusiasts getting their lines wet.
One of these day on my bucket list meet you an go fish with u in eastern Sierra an around I live in applevalley ca an I go up to bishop alot one day we have to meet up an catch them fish
@@noskunkadventures5035 There is a campsite near Bishop with a little creek running around it and in some stretch its so small it almost looks like a ditch. We caught DFG trout there while camping.
Gre up fishing here as a kid, now as an Adult, I have never been but this video was so fun to watch and brought back some great feelings. I plan on going soon with my wife and 2 kids to finish the full circle Tight Lines ✌️
Glad the video rekindled some old memories. Hopefully, your family has a great time when you go. Camanche pond is a good alternative if you don’t catch the plant day at Amador.
The pliers are by Shimano. If you’re bait fishing, the fish will get hooked in the stomach or gills more often than not. I’ll use a barbless mosquito hook so that the hook on a deep-hooked fish will come out easier.
I compress the powerbait into a ball and make sure the Hook is centered as much as possible. Cast easily with gradual acceleration. A sudden, jerky casting motion may take the hook away from the bait.
There are a few places that get planted on the Tuolumne canals by DFW. This location is on South Fork Road near Twain Harte. Google Tuolumne Ditch Access. Leave some for me.
You never hold your trout by the jaw, it is not your local pond bass, you make it broken and they will die after you go home even if you can see them swimming away ok.
