My name is Karen Yeung and I'm beauty, skincare and lifestyle blogger who's currently based in Los Angeles. I was born in Hong Kong and raised in the Bay Area in California. My style is influenced by the toughness of the city and the lax suburban lifestyle.
I uploaded my first video on March 13, 2013- it's so crazy how much has happened since then!
i would've done anything for the hello kitty bike or the scooter as a kid 😭 I want toy scooter but one that would fit me to drive around my neighborhood, a real one is too scary 😅
Just subbed! I came across this video and thanks RU-vid!! I have been using K-beauty for a few years. I don’t use sunscreen since I hardly go out. If I do, it’s running from the car to the gym lol! So do I not use essence anymore. (This was my nighttime routine) : Oil cleanser, foam cleanser (dear, Klairs…but if you have a recommendation I would love it), essence, two serums (like I’m From Ginseng serum or other ones…I have too many). Then I put eye cream and then a moisturizer. I’m 52 and this is awesome! My skin looks soooo good.
WHAT A SHOCKER! AN ENTIRELY ASIAN GIRL RECOMENDING ASIAN BRANDS ....SOUNDS FAMILIAR TO ME THAT DEAL...TELL YOU BIOLOGIQUE RECHERCHE CLARINS LA PRAIRIE CHANEL WHERE DO GO YOU HONEY HAVING THESE FRENCH BRANDS A THOUSAND TIMES MORE LOADED
I want glass skin too, but it’s not achievable for everyone as it may seem. but geez, I’m not going to put like 10,000 products on my face daily. That is just too much buildup and hurting my wallet here lol from my experience.
Question: I have retinol night cream, but do I have to use this before or after serum? I’ve always used it after because serum should go before heavy creams. Does the retinol before serum also apply if the retinol is in the night cream?
2 videos in of watching this woman for the first time, and I'm in love with her channel. She really knows about the products she is showing, and i leave here feeling my questions are answered. Thank you!
I keep seeing all these skincare routines and I'm honestly so confused and frustrated. I'm almost 30 and I want to finally have a skincare routine because it's going viral on social media right now. But then I see so many people saying that the skincare industry just wants to make money and all these serums and toners aren't even necessary. The only things they say that really work and are enough because our skin can't handle so many products are: cleansing, moisturizing, and sunscreen. It's not about the money for me, but if I can get the same results with these three simple steps, then it's a win. I don't know, I'm really confused... :(
What i see that most people use are the cerave cleanser (the foaming one for oily skin, and the non foaming one for dry skin). From what I heard, toner isn't neccesary. After the cleanser, go in with maybe 1 or 2 serums. What you want to look for in serums is "hydrolic acid". brands like Ordinary and Good molecule are popular when it comes to that. Then moisturize. Popular brands that are the most reputable are cerave or la roche posay. Then finally, for your daytime routine, apply a sunscreen. The only difference for nightime is that you have to double cleanse. (once to remove the products from the morning, and a second time to really get rid of the dirt). Some people also use retinol cream for night time but I dont think that's very neccessary. I'm just like you! I'm 17 trying to get into skincare and i found that it just takes time, research, and a bit of experimentation. I find it that its kind've hard to not spend too much money on skincare but eventually you will find what works for you. Hope this helped!
Hong Kong has been unhealthily polarised in the past few years. That’s why there is so much baseless fearmongering about living there. IMO the emigration wave from HK is exaggerated but is especially vocal in the expat community. HK is still a great place. It still has all the strengths and flaws that it has always had. Recent political hype changes none of that. I’m sorry you experienced so much hatred in CA and as a fellow Californian HKer, I wish you a wonderful future ahead in HK. Because my career has poor job prospects in HK, I cannot live there long term and I certainly take every opportunity I can get to go back!!
