Search for info on reliable ignition of motor clusters. There are plenty of documents online about that, but the simple rule - wire igniters in parallel and use a battery capable of providing very high current like a 12V lead-acid battery or 11.1V lipo.
@dack42
@dack42 Месяц назад
Yup - high current is key. The igniters take time to heat up. There is some variation in this time, and if it's too far off the motors won't all ignite before the rocket launches. Increasing the current through the igniters makes them heat up faster so they can ideally all ignite before liftoff.

I'll give you a tip… The video Felt very boring because there was no success or even further attempts to achieve it… The video seems rushed viewers don't want to wait for video 2 this video Does not build any interest. You should take more time to get more clips show more flights make it more interesting if you want your channel to do anything… It takes effort but without it it shows

It’s a work in progress - this video provides an update. If we waited a lot longer to release _anything_ until the rocket actually worked it’s probable the audience wouldn’t have been remotely as interested.
@PookerlyRockets
@PookerlyRockets Месяц назад
Exactly, I appreciate your tip, but some viewers may be interested in the failure. Rockets take time and I want to document it in as much detail as I can. I felt that my viewers deserved a proper update, not just a few pictures on insta or something.

subbed, I want to see this thing fly! Also, you can get fibreglass cable sheath and silicon insulated cable to help protect your wiring a little better. Keep up the good work young sir!

Multiple motors is fine. Just make sure that your rocket can't be spun around by the wind.

@@PookerlyRockets or you can add guides for the fins that are part of the launch platform. Would allow you to launch pretty much anywhere, without having to modify the rocket.

What is D problem? lol. You could try soldering three igniters on the inside to the positive terminal and make a ring around the engine cluster for the ground.

To make the the tip of the nosecone you could have just created a sketch on the front plane, used the "Intersection" tool on the lower part of the cone, then created a tangent curve between the 2 top points of the lower part of the cone, created a line that splits the curve in half, and then used the "Revolve" function on one of the halves, using the line that splits the curve in half as the revolve axis. Also, to make the lower part of the cone you just needed to extrude a circle with the "Draft" option checked.

Interesting video; you might wanna use the circular pattern feature for making fins instead of copying and pasting (just model one fin and pattern it around the body tube), and you can try the revolve feature for making the nose (model the side profile of the nose and rotate it 360 degrees)

Please check your CG before launching. Fins that big with all that weight at the bottom, could wind up with a bad flight.
@PookerlyRockets
@PookerlyRockets 2 месяца назад
The CG is just above the tip of the fins, is that good?
@Aether-Entropy
@Aether-Entropy 2 месяца назад
@@PookerlyRockets It's hard to say until you find your center of pressure also. CG needs to be above the center of pressure. As long as your center of gravity is above your center of pressure you'll have a stable rocket. Problem is fins that large usually weigh a lot and will cause your CG to dip too far down in relation. Plug everything into open rocket and it should tell you your stability ratio.
@Aether-Entropy
@Aether-Entropy 2 месяца назад
@@PookerlyRockets Also, make sure you measure the CG WITH the motors in. A triple motor stack is going to also lower the CG significantly.
