Hello, damien. At first, I must thank you for your great videos and reviews. At second, I have one question. I have Lumix G85, American model, obviously. I live in Serbia, and I shoot in 50Hz region. In my camera, there are only 24. 30 and 60fps settings, which give me serious flickering issue under artificial light. Is there some solution for that? Can I apply Australian or Hong Kong firmware on my camera? Will I get the variety of settings of that region's camera, or will I ruin the camera? Greetings.
You can switch the camera frequency in the main settings menu. You'll find it under the spanner icon along with the firmware version and language option, and it's called System Frequency. Switch it to 50Hz and that will sort it out.
This video is awesome, I was really looking for a slow motion video with this camera with raw footage without background music... I wanted to ask though, does the GH6 still capture audio in 240 fps? or even in 300 fps?
These days the Lumix Webcam plugin is a better bet for interfacing with OBS (and other streaming and conferencing apps like Zoom). Google for "LUMIX Webcam Software (Beta)".
Thank you! I am on my fourth Panasonic and it can be a big problem when the file names overlap. I have hundreds of pictures with the default names. - For some reason, I kept overlooking this setting in my newest camera. I needed somebody to show me exactly where to look.
I'm glad you found it useful. The trick is to change the file names again once the job it over or you move to a new place. I have piles of images with names relating to other jobs 😂
@@DamienDemolder That's an idea! I've been changing names to remember which camera something came from. When it comes to events, I try to remember approximate dates and which camera(s) I used. But 20-something years of taking pictures, I am sure you can imagine sometimes this information gets jumbled up.
You don't I'm afraid. The GH3 isn't compatible with Lumix Tether. You can still use a Video Capture card to connect the camera to the USB of your computer via an HDMI cable though. You don't get remote controls but you will be able to stream
Good test! I had just a question about your former video on AF with the great Joy anamorphic decoder? I am very interested because I hope there is the possibility to use auto focus with some of those adapters to facilitate the job of "one man crue like me"! :-)
Yes, depending on your cameras AF system it should work well. There is a little less contrast and sharpness with the adapter on, but most cameras will cope okay. You need to keep an eye on things, but it makes working on your own a whole lot easier
Bit of a beginner with an S5. How do you actually stop the Live View Composite once you’ve ended using the mode? Mine stays on Live View while on Manual, and it was unfocused before even shooting… I there has to be a setting because when I used my Manual mode at first it was working fine and focusing like C1.
My GH5 shows up in the tether program but it's not presenting in OBS. On a 2017 MBP running Ventura 13.3 with OBS up to date. OBS is selected to use in my Settings. Thoughts?
Thanks for the simple good info video. Some how I have set slow motion priorities in C1 of my GH5. The screen shows MFL ( Manual Focus Lock) How do I remove the Lock and bring to Manual Focus. As Manual Focus ring works fine in all other modes. Regards.
Hi - not a silly question at all. Yes, the 2x crop factor does still apply. So 24mm becomes 48mm, but with the 1.33x anamorphic effect with horizontal angle of view will look like that from a 36mm lens.
Very nice review and good find with the vertical out of focus 'thing'. Can I ask if it would be possible to provide some footage (or single frames) for me to test grade in Davinci Resolve? This is the exact setup (S1H + Great Joy lenses, shot in 3:2) I am looking into for a project next year, since I can't afford to rent an Alexa. I have neither right now and am trying to find out before buying anything. No problem if not though!
Thanks for sharing. I've watched quite a few videos on both the 35mm and 50mm lenses, and yours only helps to strengthen my desire for the 50mm. While the 35mm certainly has some attractive qualities, it doesn't seem to fully have the same anamorphic characteristics as the 50mm IMO. Anyway, thanks again for sharing. I appreciate your insight!
Damien great work! Highly detailed!-and the information about how the focus slip has been reversed sheds light on why the bokeh with this lens has been reviewed as somewhat odd. I already have the 50 and ordered the 35 last week. Interesting stuff, I guess it’s hard to give a final grade till the set is complete and a lot of hours have been given into the sets strengths and weaknesses in there ability to capture stories.
Very Interesting, thank you. I shoot with the S5, recently got the SIRUI, S35 35mm f1.8 which performs brilliantly. Even more recently, got the SIRUI 1.25x Anamorphic adaptor which I am testing with a variety of spherical glass. Getting varied results, but generally very happy. A direct comparison of the two would be interesting.
