Right now it's a budget full frame camera, some says just ad $300-400 etc and you'll get the R8, sure. but not anyone has that kind of money. Invest for the good lenses and your wallet will thank you in the long run. BTW the Canon RP is a great camera💪🏻
I just got this camera for a steal, $380 USD. Bought it without a lens and I'm bargain shopping on different sites for lenses lol. Got it because I am looking to get into full frame over APS-C. Definitely can't wait to get in the game again with my RP.
Hi, for photography only, how do you find continuous AF for moving subjects? Is it any good & can it track quick moving subjects' eyes & faces ok? I know the FPS is low, but its the servo AF performance I'm interested in. Thanks!
I did a full review on this model last week, and as much as I like the big screen and the mic wasn't bad I found the stabilisation terrible. I see your model also stutters terribly - just makes it unusable. I so wanted to like it but it is massively under par - far better to buy an older Osmo One etc.
I see in both of the cases - this review and yours, the stabilization got turned off as soon as you activated the front screen, if Im not wrong? I've read about this behaviour in one of the amazon conments. And seems like in both of the cases this is what you did, you had the fron screen active while doing sample shots? There is another user that uploaded two video samples and that looks great. Would be great if you could post an update on that - record a sample making sure the stabilization is still turned on?
I was trying to make the choice between this camera and a Panasonic G9. I choice the G9, as the price was good and it seems more advanced. I know that it's not FF, but I never print. And I have other M4/3 lenses. So, the G9 just made more sense.
I use mine for stills only which is a much stiffer test of the optics and it is good by the standard of even the best primes (sigma ART 35mm) better than my Nikkor 24, 28 and 35 and astonishing for a zoom.
Weeeell, there were only the two at the time, so R was technically the flagship RF mount full frame when RP was released. The R seems to compare well to the 5D series, but I could never figure out what the EOS RP compares to. It is not quite a 6D series camera, I guess that would fall on the R6? Either way neither of these feel anything like the real flagship 1D series.
@@RoyOlsen My opinion based on sensor - RP has sensor same as 6D Mark II. Also 5D was always more pro, when 6D for nonpro. Maybe people from canon belive that RP is what they need (compact full frame). R8 i think is RP Mark II
I'm acquiring this camera and your video helped my choice. The thing is, I have A xt4 for Video and a Sony A7IV for photos...but canon is my lover. I need that 5d Mark iii 6d mark ii feeling and this is it. This camera is just beautiful for stills. I don't care about the battery (that costs around 15€) or the crap video. I care about photos. And this sensor inherits the 6d Mark II feeling that I love with a mirrorless viewfinder. Nice shooting, thank you
@@benbepz yeah 30 dollar ship from somewhere called Latvia so 40 however he removed my bid so went down to 4 so 36 with tax but not bad and already shipped
@@rpgmakerbloodytutorials9486 Nice, I went to Latvia back in 2022 (videos on my channel if you're interested), it's a beautiful place! Hope you enjoy the lens :)
Thank you for making this video. I've been SET on getting the 18-35 sigma for a while now and paring it with a FF and just using crop mode, but I didn't even know THIS lens existed. I found the one you have at a slightly higher price, but after watching this, it's def worth it! Cheers!
Bravo !!
This is so annoying why most of the reviews on this absolutely photo-oriented camera are focused on how this camera is not good for video!! The RP is simply not made for video-shooting purposes. You'll make more sense if you spend your RU-vid clip on the photo capability of this camera instead.
True, but I made the point I bought it as a backup camera for client shoots that are mostly vidro work, and the reason I recommended it in the video was for it's photo capabilities!
These people are obsessed with looking at themselves in the flippy screen 🤪 If all you want is photography cam, RP is more than enough (its been used professionally) for any pics you’ll ever take- unless you’re trying to get into making large prints or something, then you’d want to bump it up to at least the EOS R @ 30.3 mpx.
Great video, nice to see you photographing pimlico (I live there and still find things to photograph). The building behind you at 3:39 taken from street level below the bridge is fun for those who like architecture. Thanks for the video, look forward to seeing more. p.s. It’s Tower Bridge not London Bridge and the skyscrapers are the City of London not Canary Wharf. Not a criticism, but might be helpful who look these places up planning a visit after watching your video.
