Hi from Australia l just bought one of these and while I was listening and watching you said you got yours from sports high tech well that's where I brought mine from so I hope it arrives safe and sound 🇭🇲👍🇭🇲
@@Larrymutz I looked up the radios. and I believe the TRC-485 was the 11 meter version and the magnum 257 was the 10 meter I think same platform different Frequencies. I see people online who open up the frequencies on the TRC-458. I think there were 3 or 4 radios that used the same basic platform as the radioshack and magnum. I used to buy from Copper Electronics in the 90;s are they still around?
Sprayed my room wooden base trims with this mirror gold spray paint and just bought the lacquer you thing itll make it gloss more there glossy now but not like I wanted it you think this will make it glossyer maybe get at me please.
I used acrylic white brown and yellow with a water base polyurethane. I couldn't find anything else. Check my other videos I did one on the blonde color. Good luck
Old post I know, but I am going to assume the quality control has gone down since they first came, out as I have had MANY of these same antennas with no problems whatsoever back in the late 1990's early 2000's.
This Video was done 2013, 8 years ago There are no tricks. I was showing what I though to be correct. I will show more accurate Vids When I have the Time.
Glad I found this video. Wilson 5000 came in and I had continuity between the threads and the antennas positive probe seems kind of odd but I’m no RF expert yet
Most of these base loaded antennas are shunt loaded, i.e.: the coil is grounded at a specific tap point on the coil (slightly different tap point on each coil) to help with matching.
I used a Watco nitro clear satin from a spray can (bought at Home Depot) and it came out beautiful. The Watco spray can sprayed with NO drips as did the lacquer cans I got from StewMac. I was very disappointed with their spray cans. Lots of drips and spatter. I ended up stripping the body down to bare wood and am starting over. I will use the StewMac clear gloss in between colors (3 color burst). I bought a quart of Watco clear gloss which I'll use from a spray gun. It's my first time painting a guitar so I'm having to learn quickly and hate errors, mine or the cans.
Thanks Larry! I was able to find an H500 that was being sold as a "parts" unit and salvaged the tubes and all of the salvageable cosmetic parts to boot!
Hi Larry, what are the string lengths and what are the specs on the springs? My H500 is missing the dial cord altogether! Your cord replacement video excellent!
Love your work! Could you respond to some Watco from your experience ? Need to spray some head stocks on 13 home build personal strats. I want to use the new version of Wal Mart Watco clear gloss spray aerosol can. I was researching Watco on YT. You are the 1st or only. I need to spray on the wateslides 1st to dry. Then to use over both on head stocks. 3 are all parts necks with a Nitro Finnish as the others I'm sure are Nitro also? Would it work?
