A collection of conversations with a cross selection of interesting, inspiring and hopefully humble characters. The aim is to go out of my comfort box to cover a variety fields across the entertainment and sporting disciplines. There'll be a number of curve ball chats, but hopefully you'll find their yarns interesting enough to give them a listen. Many of the interviewees will have their roots firmly encamped in the 1970s and 1980s, which for me was the golden period of our culture.
I'll also be uploading many of the historical audio videos from the past two decades.
Went to gig at The Tunnel Club Glasgow, brilliant gig, quite a few of us ended up on the stage with the band jumping about, one of the best gigs I’ve been to ❤
Barry, I met you in Spectrum/Land of Oz (up stairs, Tony Wilson was playing). You told me you could get me three Cally's for forty quid. I gave you the money and haven't seen you since until now. I can only imagine you got lost as it was fairly busy. Anyhow, drop me a line and I'll give you my bank details so we can settle up.
Really enjoyed that. If you were involved in the 80s club scene in Edinburgh, you would have known Ernesto and his brother, Juan. The Hooch, Manifesto or Parliment would have seen them dancing, or just being there. Having lived in London in 91, I was aware that he was there and starting to do more. Great to see he's doing well and still watching French films. :)
The record shop up the bridges - was it not Ripping Records? They did 2nd hand stuff. And Coburn Street was where all the secondhand clothes places were maybe?
