Lake Mathis is a tricky lake especially for bass but there is good fishing there. The lake is most best for gar, catfish, crappie, drum, and perch. White bass used to be really good. I'll catch 2 or 3 bass when I'm going after crappie
Just arrived in Portland Texas, really looking to getting out to catch a few fish, no boat , so it would have to be from shore. I'm looking for some tips on rigging up tackle and wondering if you could help! Thank you and great video!!

Sorry for late response but Drum Point, Site 55, Williams Boat ramp, Kratz pier area. These are all great wading areas. Pretty much any shoreline. Baffin is a great place for huge red fish and trout

Hi. I saw your post and if you ever need some one to go out with you fishing I would like to go. I’m new to kayak fishing. I’m from Edinburg Tx. I used to be a golf pro and hurt my back. Doctor told me to find something else to do and fell in love with fishing. Just afraid of going out by my self till get the hang of kayaking.
