hi there! loving your vid so far! fellow Minnesotan here! I recently found a green tree frog nestled in my front steps railing. hes been there for 4 days and hasn't moved and is alive. I'm not close to a woody or wetland area, will my new buddy be fine or do you recommend I transplant him? thanks in advance
Mine just sits on it’s log with a sort of bloated body, hunkered down. I think it’s still eating but not immediately. Does it have edema? What should I do?
Hi I have a question I have 16 of the gray baby tree frogs I rescued them from a swimming pool and the tank I have them in I mean I've got a green I've got a coconut fiber flooring of worm and I've got bunches and bunches of moss good green trees large muscle size sticks for them to climb on I have their water and bowls but I've got like frog knick knacks in there with them and they absolutely love staying on those and the question I have is I've had them since June and the question is they're from the same mother I believe will they mate together or what
yes, they produce toxins from their skin that is very irritating to mucus membranes, but is not dangerous. Just avoid handling (it stresses them) and when handling is necessary, wash your hands afterwards.
Hello!! You seem like an expert and I wasnt able to find a definitive answer on google.. I have a grey tree frog and this is our first fall/winter together. She keeps burrowing into the orchid bark substrate and im worried she isnt going to eat enough. Is she trying to hibernate? and if so, how do i go about feeding her during her hibernation? Any help appreciated. Thanks!
ok I know this is old, but maybe it will help someone else. It may be trying to hibernate if the temperature in the enclosure is cool enough (below 50 degrees farenheit). They do not need to be fed during hibernation, as in the wild they can completely freeze and will not eat or move.
Is it okay if I can temporarily keep my wild caught baby grey tree frog in a tubaware bowl with breathing holes and what to put in it? And since I caught em it hasn’t been eating I put little bugs in there it can eat and it hasn’t I need help,I also kept him in the bowl for three days going on four if that is ok... 😰
I found a grey tree frog drowning in a friends pool._. Ngl these frogs are also the chillest frogs i have ever seen, normally when you go to catch or touch any wild frog they hop away from you pretty quickly and usually go hiding anyway because you are just in the vicinity, but no.. this frog would let me hold him and pet him, he was probably tired from the pool but when it was obvious he was well rested up he still didnt care. I decided to keep him in a big enclosure and so far he is doing pretty good:/
@@starburst1902 it's okay to keep wild caught animals as pets if they're least concern species, taking in a wild frog is kinda like taking in a stray cat. They do fine in the wild but its beneficial to them if they're given a proper home.
It's either or. "Grey" is more of a British English spelling, while "gray" is more Americanized. Personally even though I am American, I prefer "grey", as I just think the word looks prettier.
Quick question can you cohabitate a five lined skink with some adult grays? I often keep animals that I see end up in neighborhoods. I usually house them for a week and release into a better environment. However my dilemma is a found a skink and some tree frogs on the same day and I don't know if I should keep them together.
ive had mine for about 2 years I got it from a tadpole in my backyard I tried to raise 3 batches and 1st died out except for one then second died out and the third 7 of them escaped in my room but the guy from the first batch showed back up, never saw the others again. but to my point I barely handled it and now I'm starting to every few days, I treat it well with humidity and a good enclosure but when I let it out it pisses on me and just now it peed this Bubble thing and I was freaked out but I dunno
You really shouldn't be selling Gray Tree frogs. They should be left alone in the wild. And actually they make horrible pets. I laughed when you mentioned that they have "personality". They are wild animals that mostly just sit there and dont move.
I think you need to educate yourself on frogs entirely, maybe around most of the reptile community. They also don't make horrible pets, just because you don't play with them or they jump around your house doesn't mean they are horrible pets. They make amazing beginner frogs for first time frog owners. They make amazing pets. (I breed them, so I think I would know)
Grey tree frogs are cute and when we say, "barking," it's NOT like a dog's bark, it is a rather melodious sound, similar to what you may hear at a pond in a forest!!
at our store, You Pet'cha, we have many varieties of fish that would work very well in smaller tanks. I think that for many fish owners, especially first time fish owners who for folks who have time limitations, having a smaller tank is the way to go: easier to care for and still gorgeous to have!!!
this is incredibly easy to set up and have. Many times, people will ask, "what plants can I use in my terrarium?" and the answer is simple: anything will grow so long as it has light, moisture and warmth. A spider plant is great as are succulent plants, a philodendron would work, English Ivy would work, too.

Sorry that you're not a fan of the tank. We get a good amount of customers that want a betta and there are so many 'worse' tanks out there. We agree this isn't the biggest tank, but it is larger than some others on the market. Does that make it better? No, you're right.
+You Pet'Cha as a European you have to tell me why most americans see pets as decor here in holland the minimum for a betta is 60 liters or 15 gallons and they aren’t sold in tiny cups its just disgusting to see petco an petsmart selling them as items 😕
Henk hidde Zweers - I agree. We are upgrading our store now to put our Bettas in larger tanks. Many people use Bettas in decorative tanks as a conversation piece. We’ve brought in some Betta care books to help our customers learn more about these beautiful fish:
Adeline Richardson yeah, it’s pretty much a drain that keeps it from overflowing, although it’s really bad with “cleaning” (poop doesn’t drain, it just stays in the tank)
Hi Adeline! There is no cleaner to turn on. You slowly pour water in the top and the water pressure pulls out water from the drain at the bottom into the container in the back.
Please doesn’t get this this is way too small for a betta. Bettas need at least 2.5 gallon tanks with an adjustable filter and heater set to 76-80 degrees Fahrenheit. Tanks like this only exist to take your money away. You could find a tank ten times bigger then this for the same price.
Beebo that’s so true! I bought two of those EZ care tanks for 30$ but I was able to get two larger tanks (1 gallon since both my Bettas have pretty hard time swimming due to spinal deformities) for 15$
Thanks for your reply! Sorry it has taken us so long to get back to you. We have begun recommending our 5 gallon glass aquariums in store to customers. For those that want something even smaller, we have 2.5 gallon aquariums.
I'm a Betta lover & I usually do a lot of research before I purchase my Betta, tanks, accessories and etc. In my opinion, Betta is a tropical fish which boils down to few important points to take note: Water Temperature, Water Cleanliness & Water Quality (PH Level). Quality of food (good ones but not cheap ones) is important as well. Recommend Pellets, Frozen or Live Bloodworms, Daphnia & Brine Shrimp. Do not recommend flakes. Size of the tank is not the main concern because Betta can live in any size of tank since Betta grew up in small spaces by breeders in farms, only later on got bigger spaces when Betta meet its beloved owner. Definitely the bigger the better for Betta to swim and grow but this do not guarantee Betta will be happy & healthy if either one of the Water Temperature, Water Cleanliness or Water Quality are poor. Everyone cares and loves their Betta within their capacity. If you're a student or not well-to-do then small aquarium tank will suffice but if you're loaded or have a little extra to spare then please get a 10 liters / 2.6 gallons & beyond aquarium tank with heater (if your room is cold) & filter (low current). Last but not least, Betta is very tough & known to live in difficult conditions. However it would be best to provide a good living condition for Betta as we do for children. Commitment is essential for Betta. Make time for your Betta & let it flares with another Betta from time to time in order ensure they grow strong & active. For some Betta lovers, we interact with our Betta. This is just my simple tips from a ordinary Betta lover.
It’s still not right to bet a betta in this small of a tank. If you want a pet, then you should be able to afford getting the proper care of it instead of neglecting it, it’s like living in a bathroom for your whole life or trapping a dog in a cage. Sure if you feed it it will survive, but it’s still abuse.
At times depending on circumstances under certain condition will need to let the Betta be in the small tank. However in my own opinion, small tank should always be temporary and upgrade is necessary as the Betta grows. Respect your opinion and do whatever you can within your capacity for the well-being of your Betta. I am in the midst of upgrading my Bettas new home too.
I have one and my beta loves it and also its better then the cups there in which there in for very long time months in a cup so why bitch when betas needs saved I'm going to be getting betas saved from cups
@Valen V I agree with u ppl think betas will die in bowls or tiny tanks I have this tank but in white and my guy loves it china has a beta store and there tanks are this size with nothing in them I think betas have it better now days and this tank is better then the cup there in
