@@RescuedRhythms yes 💯 Bill! I love playing these classic trance tunes on vinyl. There are some progressive house and melodic techno new stuff as well on the channel, mixed on CDJ's. It would be nice if the new stuff would get pressed on vinyl.
@@aljimenez69 I have it tighed up to the camera because I keep losing those covers and I keep wasting money buying them. That's why it was dangling. Haven't lost another cover since. I have two RU-vid channels, the other is a car vlogging channel, link in description box, so I use the camera and cover a lot.
If you ever want to sell. I pay higher than any other buyer guaranteed. Just letting you know. As I collect all classic model technics. So long as they are in loved condition like yours. 😊
@@wreignone Hey buddy, look up this guy on Facebook facebook.com/Rutkose?mibextid=ZbWKwL He puts up decks like my ones for sale very often. It's the guy I bought mine off. He is legit. @@user-ph2jf4ji1j I go back since the late eighties on vinyl. Played in a few clubs in Sydney, also weddings, parties and birthdays then moved to Greece for 20 years and was a resident DJ in two clubs there in Nafplio.
i had two 1210 for 40 years and not one version later was built like mine ,the new ones are just sad compared with the 79 model playing records for hours in a row and at the end of 35 years was still perfect no matter what i´ve done with it ,some changes but return to original before selling it as i had technics turntables for home use a lot better than the SL-1210MKII
If the red strobe light is constant on both then they will perform the same number of rotations in an equal time. That's what the strobe is for. If the pitch is not 0 to get the red strobes equal then adjust the pot inside or return it faulty, as it should be factory set to 0 to get a set speed.
that´s why they have Quartz engine the PLL put´s it to factory specifications with the years the "0" is not important to match the perfect pitch for that is the use of stroboscope, after 35 years that could be not spot on zero pitch, and only relates with a lot of use not faulty as it doesn´t have to be like that
@@RUfromthe40s I did not say the pitch 0 determines the correct speed it is there to allow speed adjustment to get the strobe to show the correct speed. The strobe dictates correct speed is achieved and can be adjusted via the pitch 0,+,-, If the TT has quartz lock and it is activated, then that will override the pitch adjustment. However if the TT is in pitch control and speed is correct but the but the pitch is not on 0 then the 0 can be reset internally, direct drive motors have a pot to adjust the 0 set, with Quartz lock set off. Crystals can drift with age and there may be a difference between what the TT crystal thinks it has set correctly and actual RPM.
@@jimspc07 sorry ,my bad i understood it wrong, technics is a great brand i put to work a turntable that was under my bed for years and put it to work with a stoped 207C cartridge i had at home , it sounds amazing good ,only had to clean it, all of this last weekend, a SL-3100 (77)my favorite is a expensive 79 SL-1000MKII with a MC technics cartridge it sounds better than the new SL-1000R , at the time had to choose between a BMW 535i and the turntable i had a 76 523i so i went for the turntable
while the MK7's appear to keep their speed you'll have problems with them in the future. Malaysian built. Get yourself another mint MK2 if you haven't already. Great setup otherwise!
Excelente música electrónica, tiene buen repertorio en las mezclas justo como me gustan. Felicitaciones siga así que va por buen camino. Saludos TOSKAS ♪♫♬♭♮👍
I've played on both with my Adam Audio T8V's and couldn't tell a difference. Swapping numerous times between the two. Either it's my ears that can't pick up the difference or I need a bigger sound system. I got my friend's 96 because of all the hype and if I would have heard a difference I would have sold the a9 and gone for the 96. That was live listening. Now having said that, In the mix you heard on here, in my video, with the a9 and Technics turntables, I did a comparison with The Thrillseekers latest reconnected mix on RU-vid , "because, I have it on vinyl" where he uses the px5 and I believe my video with the a9 sounds more crisp in the highs and cleaner bass. I've even found some of his tunes that I have played and keep going back and forth between them and I have to say I like the sound quality from my recordings on the channel. And I use the booth out of the a9 to record direct to my Sony FDR AX53. I don't know what Thrillseekers uses. This has made me stick to the a9. I would love to do a comparison on a high end system though.
@@Toskas Thanks Toskas! 🙏 (Italy here 😄🇮🇹) ..to have a more reliable comparison you'd have play both on PA system, not necessarly high end just something as FBT, RCF, EV.. Adam Audio are fine but they are unable to shine each topic of them.. about recording, is not reliable because signal goes out from mixers BOOTH/REC OUT in very different shapes..
I also have 4 one MK2 one MK3D however the other two of them are the MK7's.

Thank you for your great video. I am from the 50's so I had lots of turntables from valvular 70 years ago to myn lasts from the 70s. These equipment are too expensive in Patagonia Argentina. Gracias
Hi from Australia. When an electronic "new old stock" anything is going to be powered up for the first time, there is a big chance that the electrolytic capacitors wil fail causing the platter to spin out of control. Before you power it up, remove the plastic vent by unscrewing it (its the first thing you see when you lift the platter off). Unless you're qualified, just look for anything that looks like it's leaking or smells. I'd wait and get it checked by a technician. If filter capacitors are bad, they can cause irreparable damage to the drive and other components. Cheers Andrew Collins, Melbourne Victoria Australia.
Lucky I didn't cop a problem as I had no idea and didn't check anything. I've done quite a few mixes now and it's working fine. Luckyyyyy! Thanks heaps for that info! I'll keep it in mind for anything electronic new old stock I buy. Also, great info for anyone buying or coming across a new old 1200. Thanks for the support and greetings to Melbourne.
Exactly the same drive motor system as my 40+ year old 1600 MK2 Fully Auto deck. Love mine. Was lucky I found it a couple of years ago, from a single owner, smoke free home for $400. Works perfectly! Sounds great with my AT Microline cart on it. I am not sure why these new decks are so expensive. They really haven't changed much of anything but the model numbers.
No buddy. I just bought them however send this guy a message, as I bought off him and is trustworthy as he still has a couple of beauties for sale. facebook.com/Rutkose?mibextid=ZbWKwL
Bkn bro😊pone la cámara en un pedestal y te saldrá más fácil y bkn tu amboxing TECHNICK,yo nunca voy a poder tener una,soy una persona muy pobre, felicitaciones y bendiciones 🎉❤
I had a pair of M3D 1210, and I personally think they were the best turntables of all the 1200 range. Just as solid as the Mk2, but without the annoying centre dent on the pitch slider. I bought a brand new pair of 1200 Mk5 and I didn't think they were quite as solidly built.
I agree. My MK2 and the 3D feel identical everywhere except for the centre dent on the pitch. Never used an MK5. Anything old is better build quality than the newer stuff from my experience.
MK2/M3D/MK5/MK6 all of those models are tanks. built to last in japan. the new MK7 models are plastic junk. if i was gonna buy a new pair it would be 1200GR or GR2 and i’d replace the feet with MK2 feet. those are actually solid compared to the MK7 decks.
had no doubt it would work straight away. 1200s of old are tanks. my pair of MK2s were made in 2003 and are still rock solid and hold a beat perfectly. never getting rid of them.
