The NetApp KB TV channel hosts technical and support-related videos covering a wide range of topics on configuration, how-to procedures, and troubleshooting for NetApp products.
You can typically expect to see the following types of videos here: • Troubleshooting/Workarounds • Learning/Instructional • How-To Procedures • Configuration • AutoSupport • Tech Talks
You are a simply superb and posted the video at the right time when i wanted to perform ndmp restoration. it worked splendidly well. Thank you so much.
My storage is already created and integrated to be able to use domain authentication to be able to access the shares, the task I am looking for is different and slightly confusing, which I want to be able to login to ONTAP System Manger using my Domain AD Account rather that default login. how did the domain user showed up in netapp did you add it manually ? what if we have a security group that contains few users, which we wanted to add that rather individual domain users?
I really wish these steps would have been in written documentation rather than forcing folks to watch a video for what could be half a page of reading.
I have a question about the DNS resolution. when creating the datastore, it will contact the DNS, then it will save the IP address in the ESXi cache after that DNS will no longer be requested. so the datastore will always contact on the same LIF as long as the TCP connection is not reseted ?
@@NetAppKBTV In this case, we can not say that it is traffic "load balancing". the NetApp volume will always be contacted through the same LIF? Should we rather talk about NFS TCP connections Load Balancing?
No where does this video show how to install the NLF file to the netapp. I am not able to find a way to do this via the support site either. I can't find a command to install the file either when I do the system license add, or system license period. Great job !
how can i forcefully remove a dead node from the cluster (two nodes in one 8020 chassis)? I can't make unjoin because the node is in an unhealthy state (physically destroyed).
Users and partners have not been able to keep up with NetApp's sudden changes. I think we can make more efforts to maintain the terms, operation system, and concept in an easy-to-understand manner.
I know you are just the messenger but I really need to vent. NetApp seems to be doing everything in their power to tick off their loyal admin community lately: 1. ONTAP 9.7 neutered the UI. 2. The website now needs an annoying OTP password every few minutes for every little thing 3. With 9.10 we get to change license formats and download new codes for a point release update. Having to install new license keys seems pretty *disruptive* for a company that prides itself on non-disruptive updates. The UI and license changes should have been saved for 10.0 but the cynical side of me thinks NetApp knows doing so would keep people on 9.x forever.
I'll try to address your concerns here... 1) Each successive ONTAP version after 9.8 continues to improve the UI. There are a couple of threads in the NetApp Community discussing this topic if you want to read more. 2) You shouldn't be prompted so frequently for an OTP. If you can message one of our social channels directly, I'd like to get some more information from you. 3) Using the NLF isn't an upgrade requirement. The traditional 28-char licenses are still supported and licenses carry forward in an upgrade. Sorry if there's any confusion on that. -Drew
Nice Video, just need to know does the snapshot auto delete the baseline snapshot or reference snapshot automatically or it fails if there are any dependencies on that snapshots..?
So since I only have 2-storage controllers in an HA pair and don't need to run "cf disable", then I assume I don't need to run it at the end once I have powered back up the trays and head?
