Hey Todd. I’m located in northland about 3 hours north of Auckland and havnt done any real fishing around Auckland itself. There are some very good charters that run out of Auckland that would be a good option for getting into some kingfish. Other than that or knowing someone there with a boat I can’t be much help sorry.

@@leithmain2284 I see Leith, would it be any good land base casting area that you may know. I'm free to drive around entire north island at wish during mybstay there. So distance is not an issue as long as spot is accessable by car.

Im not an expert on these softbaits but from what I’ve been told it the gulps are a protein not a plastic lure and theyr also in a scent juice. The powerbaits are in a clean dry packet they are scented but not as much as the gulps. Ive caught heaps of fish in both types but lately have been liking the gulps more than the powerbaits
