i heard this song back when i was 12, i kept coming back and back to this song for so long because i loved it so much. i'm almost 20 now. i've found comfort in the beautiful guitar and your gorgeous voice for so long, and will probably continue to do so. this song was there for me at my lowest moments and i hold it very close to my heart. thank you for making such a wonderful cover that wedged itself into my brain and made a home in my heart 💕

When I found this I was still a kid. I think it was in a playlist that I listened to every night, crying my eyes out. Every step since then lead me back here to this song, at age 23. From the bitter, angry, hopelessness I felt before, now I see acceptance, grieving, and gratitude. Bye bye Vivi. You didn't know, but I grew you inside my heart. By the time we met again, turns out we'd never left at all. I never need to say goodbye again, because I've grown to become my best friend.

Hey ROAD. This song got sent to me because I was doing a friendly competition with some friends to send me music I'd like. I've been going through some hard times in my life recently, so one of the categories I set up for the competition was songs to get you through hard times, and that's the category this song came to me under. It made me tear up a little, not going to lie. Reading the description I was immediately reminded of my girlfriend of ten years, who herself struggles with depression. And the very next thing I did after reading it was check to see if you'd uploaded anything recently. I know I don't know you, and you don't know me, and that these things are deeply personal; but I still want to congratulate you for making it ten years. Whether you consider yourself "cured" (what a word) or you're still just stumbling along, I'm happy you're still here and still working on your art.

for some reason after hearing this song maybe twice the lyrics imprinted in my mind and since then it is honestly and genuinely one of a small rotation of songs i sing to myself when i'm stressed out, even literal years later. thinking on that today i realised if i never said so you'd never know how impactful this cover was to someone, so thank you dearly.
