Especially the T storm that rolled in!!!!! Fun Times...

Why didn’t you first try to use the app’s display disconnect button then reconnect? My problem is the unit’s screen is flashing on and off on its own as if a loose wire not making a strong connection. The apps readings are normal! A hard rest as you demonstrated here may be the solution. I’ll amend this comment after I try it.

Manual crank. My motor burned out on mine and I used my power drill with a socket to wind it back in. If there's one thing I learned over the years, it's that there's always people that know more then the experts. That video of you installing the 30 Amp RV outlet was nicely done. I don't think I could have done any better. Maybe different but not better.

You are missing the advantages of solar power by skimping on lights, electric blankets etc., why? And running a battery down to 39% harms it unless a Lithium battery. Expand your solar to 300 watts minimum and get a 200 amp Lithium battery minimum and turn on the lights! And anything else!

So would you still get the factory rack or put your own up on it ? Why not use two nuts. They don't seem to ever loosen up.
@Turtle3863
@Turtle3863 Месяц назад
Factory rack is well built and they mount it very well. For sure have the factory mount. If you want the rack for kayaks you will want to drill a pin hole in the top of the rail to keep it from rolling over. For myself, I have the option of putting it in the back of my truck, so that is how i will do it.

As I was watching, I said to myself: If he's anything like me, that kayak will only go up there once and that would be the final time. I have a portable Rhino waste water tank that's made to go on the ladder. Yup, it rides in the back of the pickup now.
@ShawnPatterson402
@ShawnPatterson402 2 месяца назад
I completely agree with your analysis. I towed a 21 foot Hideout that was about 3200# empty and also a 24 foot Salem Cruise Lite that was around 4200# empty with a Toyota Highlander which also has a 5000lb tow rating. With a properly set up weight distribution hitch and an electric brake contoller added it was not at issue at all with either trailer. I pulled each of those trailers about 8500 miles, so towed 17000 miles or so with the Highlander and would do all of those miles again. I do now tow with an F150, but only because we got a Cougar 26RBS that weighs about 6650# dry and with a 900# tongue weight. Would not have attempted to pull the current trailer with the Highlander. Still need a properly set up weight distribution hitch with the F150 (it comes with the integrated brake controller). Smaller vehicles can definitely tow some of the smaller travel trailers without difficulty when properly set up. safe travels...

When I saw that fish hatchery, it reminded me of the one that is actually in our development next to the Chattahoochee River. You were able to visit it and look at all the trout and walk the trails. A few months back, some nitwit decided to throw poison in the troughs and kill all the fish. Needless to say, the hatchery is now completely closed off to the public. I just don't know what gets into some people.

Extended warranties are cash cows for dealers and they rarely pay off. I just bought a trailer last weekend and they tried to sell me an extended warranty at $5K. I politely declined. Yes, I'm handy and can do most things myself. However, that was only part of the reason....some of the things I plan on upgrading would void the warranty anyway. For example, I am upgrading from Lead Acid to LiFePo batteries...that right there will likely void any warranty on the trailer electrical as they will claim it wasn't factory installed...it doesn't matter that I'm an Electronic Engineer and know electrical circuits extremely well. Installing a tongue box...yep I expect they would use that to get out of any warranty on the frame. Warranty companies tend to look for any excuse to get out of any obligations they might have. I know a guy that had a massive frame failure after only 7 months with his RV...he purchased the extended warranty, his claims were denied because they said he took it off road. The "off road" was when we was driving on a paved interstate and went through a construction zone where the pavement was stripped away for repairs. They denied his claim because of it. Extended warranties are a scam.
