I remember hearing the title screen track for the first time years ago and it was mindblowing. Still tho - out of all of your stuff, my favorite song you ever did was Ground Pink :) Almost learned to play it several years ago but my hands decided they weren't gonna do that 5 fret stretch XD
One of the pillars of my childhood as others have also expressed. I'm grateful that I got to be around for the songs as they released. Safe to say I'll be a fan for life for all your projects. Be well!
I've been looking for tutorials for this, and that controller you used is no longer sold by Amazon (or anywhere?). Would any wired controller work? It's my first time soldering so I'm not sure how to go from teardown to attaching the cables
Yeah it's been a long time. I think any hard-wired controller without extra buttons or features would work. The only reason I used this one was because of how incredibly cheap it is. People regularly do stuff like this when building fight sticks, so I'm sure you can find a tut on how to wire them to the buttons. It's normally the main button contact on the controller board to a contact on each button, and then a string of daisy-chained wires that go from button to button to connect all the grounds at once. Good luck!
You always rock, you know that? I bet you rock everywhere from the stage to the grocery store to the toilet. Would have loved to have been there. Miss you! Hope you and yours are well. Keep rocking - no matter what happens.
This album was so good. Marigold especially was super underrated. What was the theming on that track? Death, loss, acceptance of an end, that an end can be beautiful? That one always captured my heart. ❤
Thank you so much! The idea of this song was around falling forever. The guitar can only go so low, so I had to get creative with phrasing, but the idea is that it's a constant descent. Maybe a good descent. Maybe a bad one. But bittersweet was the vibe that was hoping to capture. The whole concept around the album was to write the songs first, and then decide what pantone color best represented each song, so that's how they are named. Almost a synesthesia thing. This song felt like Marigold to me. Thank you so much for asking! ❤
@@Stemage You definitely nailed it. Bittersweet is exactly the right way to describe it, and it's beautiful. Whatever you're working on next, can't wait to see it, thanks for the reply! <3
Whoa. Felt like the early 2000's just now like I was listening to Metroid Metal again for the first time. Glad to see you're still rockin the live sets dude!
The best metal adaptations that I've listened from a Videogame OST so far, usually the average covers on the net are just distortion over the same music and some generic MIDI drums, but what you achieved is a complete different level of arrangement and composition, have listened to all of your tracks even the Demo versions and never got tired of them, Space Pirates, Maridia, Bryyo and The Brood are some of my favorites,. As a Metroid and Metal Fan, and also as a Musician you are a Great Inspiration for me! Hope to listen more of Metroid Metal in the future!
20 years is a respectable milestone, I remember listening to all your older tracks growing up and jamming to them as I was studying in highschool, Rock on stemage the foundation you made for yourself is still strong!
@@evanhogan9674 I think it's in drop D. First three notes are: x 8 x x x 10 x x x x x x 8 x x x x x Just keeps descending all the way to open D and then goes back to the C note on the A string. Hope this helps a little lol.
I feel like I've been listening to this album anonymously for almost 15 years now. I had no idea what the story was behind it, I just love the album. So cool getting randomly recommended this video and being able to see what it was about. Can't really say anything else, but thanks for the many years of listening to this!
How did he connect cables to the shoot buttons of the controller ? I have now the inside of a controller and see that it is another type of button / another type of let the of pushing the button exist..
