Thank you so much for this! As I type I am going back to uni on the train and taking my bike for the first time. I was really nervous about managing it, but this video was helpful! I got to the station early to print my bike reservation ticket and attach it to the bike. On the platform, I asked a station attendant for help and he was really kind. He called ahead to my end station to let them know I would be disembarking with a bike. When the train arrived he helped me get the bike on the train, but the bike cupboard was in coach K and my seat was in coach A! It was an early morning train so there were hardly any people at the origin station, so at least this made walking all the way down the train with my bag relatively easy! Even though I had literally lost sleep about managing to take my bike on the train, the journey so far has been a breeze. I hope this comment helps anyone else looking for advice :)
1 or 2 person yaks are often referred to as 'convertibles' or duals. A "hybrid' usually means older style round tubes on the side, and a dropstitch floor. What you have is a 3 panel dropstitch one
It is a kayak for 2. Two seats and paddles do come with it…but you can set the kayak up for 1. If going out by yourself, rather than using the the metal clips for the seats towards the front and the back of the kayak, you can use the clips in the middle of the Kayak to set up only one seat. It means it helps balance the weight and centre point of the boat for stability.
You could...but you won’t get the wheels into the holders to keep it upright and hanging. Thinking you will have to bring 2 bungee cords to tie it to the wheel holders on the wall.
It’s actually ok with two bikes in. Hooks are are different heights so the handlebars do not really effect the hanging of the bike. I am not going to pretend it can sometimes be a little tight, but whenever there has been a bike in one of the bike barns when I join the train, I have personally never had an issue getting my bike in. Hope the info helps…
If you think 2 is tight, I was speaking to one of the guards on the LNER trains back in Nov 2021 and he mentioned the original plan was to get 4 bikes into each of these bike barns. I can tell you for sure, unless they are kids bike, you have nae chance with 4. But you will be fine getting 2 in…
Just traveled with two 29 inch wheel MTBs. Medium frames and wide bars. Difficult and very tight squeeze. Tip : take a bungee cord and use this to secure the wheel to the wall hook. Much easier and quicker. Another bungee cord can also be used to secure 2 bikes together. Bike storage on older and smaller trains is much easier. 😂
After waiting a ridiculous 40mins on the phone to your customer service (quite frankly, that was ridiculous), I finally got it sorted. Surprise surprise, norton seems to be quick enough to steal my money illegally from my back account without prior warning, but it takes 3-5 working days for it to go back.
I believe you. I bought a renewal with the product code. When I went to renew it and entered the product code, I was asked to enter a credit card number. This is the first time I was asked for a credit card. I'm glad now that I did not enter my card number!!
