Normally anything thats “accessories” related like a radio or similar basically you are just looking for a fuse where power is over it when the car is “on” if that makes sense - basically the blue wire is so the charger knows it should be in an operational state which is when the car is on (otherwise the main battery can drain) I ended up using the one in the cargo area in the end
@@donniesgarage Can I pay you some sort of consult fee to walk me through what I need to buy and how to install it to run an anderson plug from the battery out to the trailer plug so I can connect it to the fridge in my camper trailer? :)
@@JustinOL1 I appreciate the offer, however you would be best to talk to an AutoElectrician its not something I am licenced to do. Video was informational for anyone wanting to give it a crack :-) There is an older video i did for a landrover discovery anderson plug you can find should be a similar procedure. Otherwise plenty of youtube videos that guide you through it.
@@donniesgarage Did you end up running a wire out to the trailer plug area? I want an anderson plug next to the trailer plug to power the fridge in the caravan but I'm not sure which rubber boot in the back of the car contains the wiring loom for the trailer plug
@@JustinOL1 not for that defender as it has no tow ball. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Ui8RqWiFIp8.htmlsi=rnSfYgLhB7QV7yRq that was doing a Discovery 5, should be somewhat similar.
Great job Donnie keep it up I just covered Jambi on my channel Check it out if you want Tell me what you think ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YzR-aHynnFc.htmlsi=W-V18W_b7-MzLhWa
What you failed to demonstrate is the difficulty disconnecting the hitch when on uneven ground! Seems everything needs to be perfect with this hitch. I'll stick with my reliable Hyland Coupling
yes if you’re not straight on or on an angle its difficult but not impossible, i believe they were originally designed for tractors where you could use a bit of force when connecting - not as easy with caravans/trailers where you dont have a lot of room
I've been cooking with cast iron for 15 years and use mild dish soap all the time. my cast iron is in excellent shape. Dish soap.... rinse thoroughly, heat on stove and apply oil. The dish soap will help remove unwanted odors. I don't want my steak tasking like salmon from the night before.
Ive never had any carry through flavours cleaning like that. Mild soap makes sense, most cleaning techniques say to avoid them entirely as it stops polymerisation but at the end of the day, do what works its good to see comments from people on the different techniques :-)
From a desire to make you’re life easier… Q: Why does food “cake” to the bottom of your pan? A: Because you use water in your cleaning process. Helpful hint, Skip the water, Pour in a little oil, Scrape while heating, Wipe with towel, Done. The reason food sticks to your pans at all is that when you clean with water, you lose some of your seasoning. By cleaning with oil instead, my scrambled eggs can’t even stick. Also, the temperature of the pan when you add the food is important. Make sure your pan is up to temp.
Been trying to get one of the rear head restraints out of my 2020 RR Evoque on and off for a week now. Thanks to your video "How To" it's now out..Many thanks!
Nice video mate . Been looking for a thorough tour of these beasts. I’m too poor to purchase one, but building my own camper atm taking inspiration from the exp-4. A must for me is an indoor shower /toilet and I’ve somehow managed to figure out the space lol
We were lucky im pretty sure thats like number 6 or something ever built the cost of them jumped significantly since then as has everything else in life
@@donniesgarage do you remember how much you paid ? Before seeing the trailer of the badass suspension I thought it was well overpriced, but the thing is a machine. By far the most aesthetic too
Tell me, does it piss you off, that the fridge door opens the way it does? Personally I think that it should open the other way so you’re not wrestling with the door when you’re cooking.
@@donniesgarage I believe that it does and last year when I was at the Bruder showroom they said something about the icebox being the deciding factor but I can’t for the life of me, understand why they would want to hinge it on the right, like it is.
@@petergair4726 the icebox is certainly removeable although we found that then the top of the fridge would just ice up so although it gave a little more room we would regularly have to de-ice the top.
Hi Donnie, terrific explanation on the dismantle & cable run in Defender. I have the identical D300. Given your success could I run from the same cable location to an Andersen Plug at tow hitch for caravan power? Brad Woods Melbourne.
Hi Mate in theory yes its 12V there and its a huge cable from the battery to it. Definitely put a breaker on it though or talk to an auto electrician to make sure its done right.
@@encapsul8 Just remind them not to bother pulling that whole left hand side off like I did in the video :-) although for an anderson plug you don't need that type of fuse I'd opt instead for a manual breaker. Some people put in auto-reset breakers however if you have a current big enough to pop a breaker and auto reset isn't really a great idea - yes it will keep your stuff running when it may have otherwise stopped but you also risk damage to your existing wiring / equipment. If it breaks, its generally broken for a reason that requires investigation 🙂
I know this is an older video but i have a question. Does anyone know if there is an AMP limit when using a smart alternator? I was told that 40 amps is the sweet spot. However my new vans Eco flow systems pulls 70 amps. What will happen if i run this? Any thoughts?
the redarc in the video is a 40 from memory and they make a 25 as well. Ive never seen a 70 but doesnt mean its not possible really depends on what you are trying to do with the system overall
normally 2L per 100 extra if tyres are at right pressure otherwise it can be worse in the Discovery. I havent towed it much with my ranger to know its rate
@@donniesgarage when I first approached them it was going top cost me $56000 and then was way too much. I know exactly how they are made and the cost and I can tell you they are making a killing on these.
Thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks, thanks we try abot 1 hour to remove with the horrible Land Rover Discovery Sport 206 manual...
