Great video, the only thing I would do differently is to remove the cone washers by riding the nut up to the top of the stud until it is flush, then I take a brass drift and a 3 lb sledge and smack it with the drift and sledge. The cone washers pop right off. Hitting it with a hammer can cause damage.
My question is, if a cv joint is mishandled and comes apart inside the boot, can it be reassembled whether the boot is left on or not? Or was that something that would damage components and need them replaced?
Just used this technique to remove the pilot bearing from my 914 engine. Grease did not work as it shot out the sides of the bolt. Bread on the other hand worked perfect. Literally less than 2 minutes, a single piece of cheap garbage white bread. No mess, either.
Good morning, great video even 11years later. Just purchased a 92 Geo Tracker , looking to upgrade the seats, do you have a bracket system for a 92 tracker. Thank you
