Not sure who this Csaba guy is......... I used to live and work in Cyprus years ago and have been lucky enough to dive Zenobia a few hundred times. I'm still in touch with friends from back then, who have been diving the wreck for the past 20 years, 3 or 4 times a week guiding customers, and neither do they. I've got to be honnest, this is poor content. A rubbish story about a truck driver that couldn't sleep 😂........ If you want to look into it more, the facts are there, it was an insurance fraud, this information was free 25yrs ago. My 2nd complaint is....... Your video didn't even begin to show the true size/scale of Zenobia or the safe penertration dives that are available to the less experiencced diver or the lenghtly penertration dives that the advanced technical diver can enjoy.
When Csaba told us that he was going to measure the Zenobia, I knew it was going to be a fun idea, your videa is proof of that. Too bad it was on our last day, would have loved to have been there. But still, thanks or sharing. Greetz John
That’s great to hear. Maybe I will see you there :) One of the interesting bits about Zenobia is that different sources disagree on the precise lenght of the ship. So in the beginning of June this year, we are going to conduct an interesting little operation, and measure the actual wreck. And we will put it on film of course :)
@@thevikingexplorer6345 awesome man! My family live over there and I was an MSDT at a dive centre in paphos for a number of years. I’ll be over in July and will definately be visiting the old girl again! Hopefully we see a vid on you guys measuring and digging up more secrets about it!
I dived the Zenobia in October 2021 and I can really recommend it, its more then worth it. Additionaly, Cyprus can be reached very easily at very low costs. Once you are there and you want to have some additional fun dives... Green Bay, Da Costa Bay, The Caves.
@@hughidiyit2588 That’s great to know thanks very much. Can you recommend a dive shop? Which other dive site did you really enjoy and would say is a must see?
Awesome. What's the best months to dive In here. I plan by March. Thanks for this wonderful video. Subscribed. So inspiring. I have my own dive channel too.
How come “Zenobia expert” Csaba is telling a story about its sinking which is different than the official story? The official story is that there was a problem in the balast tanks which made it tip over? Nothing about a “truckdriver who wanted a demonstration how the autopilot system worked”.
Hi Marc Thank you for the question. The short answer is that Csaba has spent years cataloguing every possible detail about the Zenobia, including all the information on why it sank, which trucks and people were on board, all the cargo and much more. Csaba has been gathering this information for years while writing a comprehensive book on Zenobia, and has completed numerous interviews with people connected to the sinking, crew members and passengers that were on board at the time. In addition Csaba has been working as a guide at the Zenobia for many years and has spent countless hours photographing and filming every detail. So I do beleive it is fair to call him an expert =) A couple more points to your question; as you might already know, there are several different variations to the story of why Zenobia sank. What you mention is one of these, and what Csaba mentions in the video is slightly different. There are even much wilder (conspiracy) theories, some of which have been covered in much bigger documentaries, for instance by the Costeau family on Dicovery. Some of these theories include deliberate sinking due to weapons smuggling and even the possibility that the Zenobia still possibly holds WMD's in its lower cargo area. My little film was not intended to cover all the detailed information and theories. The intention was to attempt to illustrate what it is like to dive at the Zenobia, including a short section on what happened. The original interview footage with Csaba on this topic is about four times what you see in the film, and there is plenty story on Zenobia alone for a full lenght documentory (which would be awesome to make by the way). What Csaba explains in this film is what he considers most accurate based on his extensive research, cut down to a few minutes. I hope this answers your questions, and please bare in mind that I am not by any means the expert on the Zenobia, so there's a limit to what I can confirm or deny on that topic =) I am working on a sequel to this that goes into the ship on the search for one the last remaning trucks to be located and documented, which will highlight more of the story. Cheers, Ronni
Will do my debut dive for Zenobia next week hopefully. It's gonna be a bit scary somehow but also a fantastic experience for sure. Thanks a lot for this short documentary. It increased my excitement more.
