Your premise is that they keep concession prices low because they believe they're maximizing concession profits? How about it's because they are conspicuously demonstrating their dedication to tradition, which plays into their brand image, which in the long run, bigger picture, results in huge TV and merchandising revenues.
He's not a legend unless you count cheating on your wife, breaking up his family, having no friends, not helping his family, and being a selfish p.o.s.
I feel Jason Days struggle, I went to Golf Galaxy and learned I can’t swing as fast as I could in my 20’s, getting old sucks!!! I just started putting really good just to learn I’ll probably never see a drive go 300 yards again unless it’s down hill and with the wind helping!!!!
I’m afraid that if golf doesn’t get more interesting it will be gone! I have loved golf for 27 years and have been seriously playing for 18, I don’t watch golf at all, maybe a golf movie sometimes, and a few majors (in my life) but golf is boring and has been getting more and more stale since the “Tiger Slam” era! The LiV drama has been the most interesting golf has been since the late 90s!!!!
Dude golf is and will always be alive especially without some fake 52 holes golf tour headed by the Great WA-Cat-Fish. It really don't sound like you've been playing golf long. Sounds more like putt-putt? Did you know there are about 24 pro golf tours around the world playing by the same rules that Liers In Vain/LIV and the Great WA-Cat-Fish don't want to? Screw them, you, and the Great WA-Cat-Fish.
@@winstonbradford2362 I started caddying at Waverley Country Club (where Tiger won his 3rd US amateur) when I was 12 and worked at a few other clubs and pro shops as well, we had a golf program at my middle and high school, and the pro I got my lessons from as a young man was on the Nike tour (back when that was a thing). The LiV drama has brought me back to being interested and from what I see on RU-vid lots of others are with me on that. I’m not going to start watching LiV on the WB or anything but I bet the RU-vidrs are glad to have content. All I’m saying is golf needs something more to bring viewers in, and for now this WWE-esq drama is what we got.
Tiger, Jack, Arnold, Gary, Sevvy, Collin, hundreds of others including the great WA-Cat-Fish, whatever, made their money from the PGA. This young guy for sure was only with the PGA 1,2,3, years? All those guys including the great WA-Cat-Fish, whatever, is only out there for the Liers In Vain, LIV for the big payday. Nothing more. The great WA-Cat-Fish been doing this for the last 20 plus years. Been trying to befriend/bamboozle Tiger for years. Tiger just saw through him. They all are nothing but a bunch of money grubbing exhibition golfers. Nothing more. If they don't stop giving away tickets, it will fold a lot sooner.
At least he's an honest man he said he went for the money which is fine for him but the best part Johnson is not trying to play other tournaments or disrespecting PGA where he had a good run I still remember the missed put at us open.i was so shocked
Enjoy all that extra time with your family. Probably the only player on liv that actually had a promising career in front of him. Would have been interesting to see how he progressed against the best in the world. Should clean up against the shit field on liv
We want to see the best in the best fields compete. Those typically are the majors, but golf is boring now, which is usually what I paid attention to. You watch to see the best compete. The PGA now is always the same 5 to 10 guys, and the other guys we used to enjoy watching because they had different aspects to their game, and different personalities and styles make for different courses etc so you want to see who wins. As far as LIV, I don't know how the team stuff works I haven't paid close enough attention. It seems interesting, but for guys to say "I get to play less and get paid more", I always thought golf was a sport where you needed to be out there, play more, practice more and gear yourself up for weekly purses. I dunno about this "team stuff" and if its the future of golf, but obviously the players on the tour were frustrated with the grueling schedule. As others like McIlroy have said, you have to sort of combine it. Recreate the best field in golf, do the teams aspect to lessen the stress on a weekly basis but also fairly compensate anyone that has their tour card, and increase their pay once they reach a certain level so they have money for their families. Clearly, the players need to be compensated more for the money they generate. And they need to be less stressed. You woudln't have teh best in the world defecting. So you have to compromise. Forget the records of the random PGA tour. Incorporate all players that have defected and the PGA players back. Make some sort of draft system to enable collegiate athletes to make it into the league. Its pretty messed up that the Saudi league just picked off the guys who the PGA tour helped to become special players. Its messed up. But at the same time...that other opportunity ist here. Who suffers the most? Us as fans of the sport. Clearly hte PGA isn't the same with only like 10 household names, and LIV is a fringe league that doesn't get television coverage. i'm sorry but it has to be on regular TV and receive appropriate media attention to get people like me to pay attention. Hopefully, its a good compromise and you get everyone basically joining forces and funding. Right now, its not fun as it is. We will see even more when the Players rolls around and how the majors are decided.
VERY well said. Indeed, we can only hope the best for the players and the fans. Player compensation was a big problem, and it’s good that LIV has shed some light on it. And getting TV coverage is going to be a VERY big hurdle for LIV! IF the PGA has as many problems as some players are saying, and IF the LIV organization can keep to the high road, maybe we’ll see them, and the sport as a whole, flourish. Or maybe a challenger will be exactly what the PGA tour needed to straighten out their game. Either way, it feels good to be hopeful about the future of golf.
My thoughts are, it’s Rory MAC-IL-ROY, not MaGilroy. I am nitpicking, but if you want to compete in the space of RU-vid pronunciations matter to true fans.
Why would anyone believe you now you lyed when you left stating you want to play less and be more with family and friends and then your playing tournaments in Australia nowanother lye .you used to be a good guy good player but how you Smith you can ot be trusted in anything now
@@dalon6900 I know that but he owns a home in Florida but that's what he said when Smith went to liv he doesn't want to golf much and wanted to visit friends and family now he's golfing taking another person that could make the tour Smith is a lyer period
Keep that money Johnson its ok you made a choice at least you have stud behind going to liv. But guys like Smith waa waa I don't want to play that much I want to visit friends relatives and plays a tournament not liv Smith is such a lyer you cannot trust turncoats like him. At least Johnson stood to his choice to go to liv.
