I moved to the Poconos in 1991 & the big selling point all the realtors were pitching to the commuters is "they're bringing the train back." That song & dance is getting old. You better find another way to get to work other than train because that line has a better chance of becoming a rail trail rather than a commuter line. The reasoning seemed to always be that the cost of bringing that line to operating standards is astronomical and whatever revenue that line brings in, it would never be able to pay for the cost, cover daily operating expenses or ever see a profit.

I did Magiquest in my childhood at the now defunct Myrtle Beach and East Hanover location. I’ve been to great wolf lodge Poconos but never got to experience Magiquest there. I do like how it looks now though.
I am planning in August 2024 to go from White Haven to Jim Thorpe. Figure 49 miles. If legs are willing, may attemot to go to Mountain Top..... not counting on it though..
. I hiked on that section from Glen Onoko to Penn Haven Jct a few years ago in the fall. If I get there at a good time on Friday, may attempt White Haven to Black Diamond area.
In my freetime I just pick a random American town and see videos about it, this one looks really beautiful, feels comfortable. I wish I can visit the US one day 😮💨
would love to see them start run passenger to this station! Maybe even reopen the Hauto tunnel! with the RBMN's steam engines it could get half way back the way it was in the 40s and 50s! sadly I don't see this happening due to funds and the amount it would take to fix the Hauto side of the tunnel as they would have to dig up Route 54! Life could be a dream though! Just to add it would also cut travel time for their freights as they wouldn't have to climb the 3% grade up to Barnseville and down the C&S.
My family is doing a reunion this summer in the Poconos, I can't wait! It's been a few years since I have been last in the region, I hope to take alot more adventures to the region again soon!

I’m SO excited for the reopening! This was my favorite place to hike growing up in Dingmans and I’ll be visiting in June. Hoping it’s reopen by then!! 🤞🏼
