I love the explanation of your process and thank you for the video. I hope to better fine-tune my system of note taking so that I can refer back to the things that I read with purpose and satisfaction. Your notebooks are lovely and inspirational! 😊
Incredibly inspiring! I too have used old planners as notebooks, but I wanted to come here and mention your child´s scribbles. I too, used to allow my son to scribble on my notebooks. Now, looking back, I wish I had more of his drawings on my old notebooks. They are the most precious memories.
Thanks for this video! I found it while trying to figure out how to make my own 5 year TN journal setup. How is yours going now? I wonder if one could take apart 2 of the undated daily joilurnals and combine them into 1 book?
@@tanyarodgers472 It went very well. I liked it a lot. But I did feel by the end of 2023 like I wanted to have everything in one book. So in 2024 I started a one book 5yr journal.
@@tanyarodgers472 That is a great idea. If I were to do it again, I would probably do something like that. I do prefer having everything in one single notebook.
Which size is the closest to the travelers company notebook? I like the system with the clips but love the size of my September leather travelers notebook book.
@@andrewcrossett18 No, A5 would have too much extra space for your standard size inserts. Baum-Kuchen sells an A5 slim size which may fit better the Standard size inserts.
I love the box! Do you think it would fit A6 note cards? I've started taking notes in that format recently, and I'm having a hard time finding a good box for them...
I really like this. Ive been streuggling with an over structured system. I started to use a day hobonichi but i find the spaces are not enough or i cant fill up the day with my thoughts. For now i have 2 fieldnotes elastic tied together so i can keep one as a "common place" and another for my health tracking
I'm a carpenter. So, when I saw how much it cost on their website, I just decided to make my own. It turned out pretty nicely (I've only got about a year experience), and for pretty cheap. I'm happy with it. I also was able to stain it the color I desired.
When you said indentation, I think that the word that you were looking for was perforated. Leuchtturm notebooks usually have about 8 perforated pages in the back. Nice setup!
I'm setting up my weeklies like this: I put monday-sunday on the top row in columns,as I don't have many appointments (and no calendar, because I don't need it), and the to dos (and a tracker sometimes) on the bottom, because I need more space for my todos. I put a classical calendar for my each monthly, and I write monthly to dos on the next page, because I don't want yo clutter my monthlies. All monthlies for the current year are in the front of the notebook, so I don't have to look for them somewhere in the notebook.
So it seems like you don’t use the daily as a traditional daily. Wonder if the weekly version would be helpful and less set up time. I think I like how you made it work for you. I’ve not been able to deal with a traditional planner because I think my life has just gotten more fluid and unpredictable. Also felt guilty if I didn’t complete a task.
Hi! 😃 I hopped on your channel because I'm thinking of getting a moleskine expanded for a catch all journal /stream of consciousness writing and I loooooove the way you use them so I came here for inspo. and here's you are, mentioning my Tarot jorunal and how it inspired you to make one for yourself 😂 it was almost like an inception moment, love it! 😄 you inspire me and I adore your videos 🤗 thank you so much for sharing your journals! ❤😊
I'm on a No Spend challenge...and you're making it hard for me to not spend money. 😂 I have been enjoying using Field Notes notebooks for over a year now and that box would be great to store my notebooks in. Thank you for doing a review on it. Also, I don't see it on the Field Notes website. Where did your get it from?
Gaëlle Boissonnard also does some beautiful notebook designs for Paperblanks. I love your channel, you’ve inspired me to go back to the brands I love… Moleskine and Paperblanks… I’ve never tried a Leuchtturm. I have used a Dingbats but I found it was too rich for me…
This is a great video about your system and how you think of a book for awhile before you decide to common place the book in your reading journal. Most of my reading is just to meet an amazon kindle challenge.
This is very impressive. I really admire how you invest in yourself and it shows that if we really want to impove our skills, we can and will find time to do so. You are an eternal learner and I think we all should be. Chapeau!
By the way: I share your opinion about the trade off of translations. I haven't read the book you are referring to, but I experience this a lot with eastern philosophy translated to german. It is one thing to know the meaning of words but a whole new universe to fundamentally understand the subject.

I collect pocket notebooks, particularly Field Notes, and my wife got me the Archival box for my birthday last year. Good luck with your writing and thanks for sharing!
I'm overwhelmed with options haha. Just got my first fountain pen and looking for my first good notebook. It's either one of these leather versions or a Midori and simple paper cover. I'm worried this new Tomoe River Paper will bleed with my medium TWSBI using Noodler's Red-Black and Pecan 🤔 Choices, choices, choices... Haha. Thanks for the reviews.
I haven't had issues with the Tomoe River Paper bleeding. There is some ghosting, though. I have come to like a lot the Cosmo Air Light paper for fountain pen.
Yo soy más feliz con tapas blandas o intermedias, en todo lo demás comparto tus sensaciones... me encanta tu belleza para crear... y el dragón es precioso ❤
Hi Yngrid, where do you get these exceptional postcards from? I mean, do you order them seperately and can you recommend online shops which offer different themes? Also I see you really use your notebooks very mindfully. I am curious to know if this has always been a part of your life and how do you integrate it into your day, being a mother and working I mean? If there is already a video about this particular topic- my apologies, I haven't managed to watch them all- yet :). All the best for 2024! Janette
Hi Janette, most of my postcards I collect them from local coffee shops or stationery stores. Some of the ones I show in this video are from www.baum-kuchen.net And the red one is by French artist Gaelle Boissonard, you can find some of them on Etsy. I started integrating journaling consistently after I became a mom. I just kept feeling like I was the last person I took care of, so I started recording one or two things I did during the day (small things) that made me happy. Journaling became a kind of therapy during hard times. Even 10 minutes before I went to bed or when I woke up. Most of my journaling now takes place right before I go to bed.
@@yngrideilis2696 Thank you so much for your kind reply. I was anticipating that you mostly collect them individually. And thank you for sharing how and why you got into journaling- I am happy that you found a tool which allows you to check in with yourself and feel more balanced.
