Out of curiosity, what symptoms was the car having? How did you know you needed new mounts? I have the same year , make, and model and was thinking of doing this but didn't know if I really needed to.
Hey there 👋 My mom's elantra would shake pretty bad when we would go over small bumps or imperfections on the road. One easy way to tell if you need new motor mounts is to visually inspect the rubber inside the mounts it should be one solid piece. Look for any slashes or missing rubber on the inside of the mount itself. On my mom's elantra the passenger motor mount was definitely shot! The driver and trans mount still had some life left in them but I figured I'd change em all since I was already gonna be working on the car plus they came in a kit!! Hope this helps
Dude, if that's a Honda, adjusting idle requires you to disconnect the evap sensor, start car and allow it to run until fans kick on, then you adjust idle control while car is running using quarter turns.
Great video man. I have a question because I will attempt this soon. The black middle mount, is the transmission mount, I believe. Can you clarify what you supported down below with the jack. In the video you said the engine, but wouldn't you have to support the transmission during this? thanks man.
I'm having the same issue, on a cold start it's idling at 900 but once it's warm it'll idle at 600-700, if I turn on the AC it'll idle at 500 shaking the entire motor trying to stay on, I've replaced the idler thinking that was the issue but didn't solve my problem, so I'll be giving this a shot
Hmm maybe the second gen trunk face is a little off?? Start with the two long yellow tabs. Line those up and everything else should fall/push into place.
Ofcourse. The black ground cable goes to the negative battery terminal (black side) The red power wire goes to the driver side headlight connector. You will have to expose the harness and tap onto the red wire for power. Here's another video I made where I explain it a bit. Hope this helps let me know if you have any other questions 🫡 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fJZQ3jjOtZw.htmlsi=vqahGGNFMUNkuMFB
It shouldn't take more than 1 hr tbh the top passenger and bottom trans mount are the easiest because you don't have to remove anything to get to the bolts. Driver side isn't too bad either just gotta remove the battery and battery tray. I was recording so it took a bit longer but i wanted to show where everything was located.
Thanks! I got it on ebay. www.ebay.com/itm/393120759944?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=lyGuW26gSci&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=jZT92AMpSXy&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
@@budgetfixes Thank you so much for the link. I really appreciate it. I'm going to purchase a different style of DRL kit. (The one with the switch back LED lights) I've seen a few RU-vid DIY videos on how to wire them. I hope the kit works well with no issues.
Ofcourse 🤜🤛 could you please let me know how those work out! I'm going to replace the DRL harness and see if that fixes the issue if it doesn't I might get the same kit you're talking about.
You shouldn't be pulling sensor plugs if you don't know what they are for. "That" sensor is the most important one of all . Tells the ECU the motor temp.,Doesn't turn the fans on, that one is a switch on the thermostat housing
Could you share the link where you got the Valve? I see that the Old one is different from the new one you got, And im about to buy one new that is similar to the old one you had, Does it work even if its different?
It's actually the same part. The older one was just really coroded so the little nozzle where the hose goes into was rusted/broken off. I bought the valve at napa autoparts I'll get you a part number when I get home today.🫡
Thanks for step by step when i had to remove the driver fan i loosened the radiator bracket and A/C Condenser brackets and push them forward a lil and it slid right out
Hello. Could you watch this video and tell me if this is something you could do. V8 4.6. Only the plugs. This engine has coils instead of wires. Thank you.
It's not oohga dewga, here in America it's pronounced ugga dugga. LOL Good job sticking through the rough times and getting your car back on the road!! It's balloon time! haha Take care -Glen (Ozz)
Did you ever get the new one welded in? I’m in the process of doing the same on a integra but I’m doing both sides at the same time with the rad support to make sure it’s aligned.
Check this video out. This helped me out alot he has 2 other videos on removing both sides as well. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-O7HWLn4yTDc.htmlsi=THnZ4Rs3IOnFjBPP
When my starter had the same issue the solenoid would click on but not always spin. Found just the brushes on ebay and replaced them. Cost $15 and its still working 2 years later.
@briandyer1864 hey there 👋 I have the sedan version but I just googled the suspension diagram for a 2012 coupe and it does appear to be the same. Here's a tip, count how many rotations it takes to unscrew the tie rod ends so your alignment isn't too far off. A quick string alignment and your good to go. Hope this helps!
How much did all this cost you.. including the replacement= whatever you decided to change out after repairing parts.. asking because I have the same car and year (4.6) @bugetfixes ... And was this for both front wheels.. apologies I skimmed through video
