One of the officers had a revolver. The use of revolvers were continued into the early 90s, but by the mid 90s we started seeing officers primarily with 9mm’s. This video is from 1991. 🙌🏽
This video came out in 1995, you can tell because at 0:12 a 93-95 model Chevy caprice squad car is seen driving by “the 1991-1992 caprices had a skirted rear wheel, while the 93-96’ models didn’t” also the big change from revolvers to Beretta 9mm’s was the North Hollywood Shootout in 1997, when police were combating two bank robbers with heavy duty armor and automatic rifles, most of the patrol officers at the time only carried 6round revolvers, maybe a few had 9mm handguns and .12 gauge shotguns, which were obviously no match for the bank robbers’ weapons. So after that, the last of the revolvers were retired and every LAPD cruiser was equipped with a semi automatic rifle. Although no longer used as a primary side arm, some LAPD officers do carry a revolver as their backup pistol
