It seems towards the end of the movie clip you can see more normal people how it probably really was. Around the start of the clip I also saw the expression of who looked like a soldier_ he seemed to be at lost like he was in some Twilight zone. This is an amazing tape. And around the time that my grandfather was 9 years of age.

Love to watch this old stuff. I watched one called Monterrey 40 and there was a girl in a headband passing a joint with some guy. She was my high school teacher Pegi Kaspar. She has since passed but she was a great teacher.

I totally tripped down memory lane watching this awesome footage of the era that I was lucky enough to be a part of!!! I was a hippie n still am to this day heart n soul n mind!!! It was so cool back then when you met people in the parks n on the streets n at the beach n boardwalks!! This was so wonderful to see yet for some reason I am choked up watching this because it is an era that is lost to us nowadays!!! Oh, to be back in that atmosphere again!!!
When I was younger and dumber and clearly had much more testosterone flowing through my body, (and much more reactionary in my political thinking), I would have looked at these people with, at best, much disdain. Now.....???... I simply cannot imagine why young men would want to be banging hippy chicks than fighting in Vietnam.🤣🙄 I'm also looking for Charlie Manson wandering the street. Today's Haight and Ashbury is both a mix of naked Capitalism, gross consumerism, and "not- so- optimistic" youth. It also has a Rasputin store that has employees that are very strict "Mask Nazis"....Not only should you wear your mask in the store, you better make DAMN SURE it covers your NOSE as well, because unlike the youth of yesteryear, today's youth that work at such places like Rasputin on Haight Street must believe the American government would NEVER lie to them...Or even be incorrect🙄🤣 Note: I might be incorrect, the store with the "COVID Mask Nazis" might be an AMOEBA store....It's the one all the way down west on Haight Street before you get to Golden Gate Park. Even the employees at the Amoeba/Rasputin on TELEGRAPH AVE. IN BERKELEY across the bay were not such serious a-holes!

Boomers aren't hippies. The hippies were a subculture, a counterculture (if you will). It was nowhere near being the majority. The illusion of majority is their huge impact on art, music, politics, and spiritual thought. But they were never more than just a small part of the boomer demographic.
The decade drugs turned a generation into idiots. Sadly it's still glorified and romanticized by people. Imagine how much better it could have been, no Hendrix, Woodstock, ģreatful dead, wow, it could have been real, but instead just millions of smelly hippies talking crap and smoking weed.
