WOW! Yet another reason ! I live in the miami area... i had a root canelle done about five years ago. Even with insurance, i still beat about $750. Plus the cost of the visits, what's the cost of the cleanings ... Without insurance, it would probably cost the same as flying to vietnam to get it done.
Holy shit. A root canal in South Florida can run you anywhere from $1800 - $2500 dollars!!! Btw, that's the normal price for Invisalign because they have to pay for it from the manufacturer. Back in 2013-2014 I had Invisalign done for around $7K. Did it for 10 month and was not satisfied with the end result. My dentist felt really bad and she offered to do ceramic braces for an additional $1K which lasted 18 months. Ceramic braces alone would've been $8000 - $9000 dollars. X-rays are $300. The prices in the US for dental work is becoming highway robbery. There are so many reports, videos and articles done on this.
👍 WORD! ... i live south of miami ... i had a root canal 5 years ago. Even with insurance ... i still paid about $750 for everything! Without insurance, it would be cheaper to travel to vietnam for dental work.
That's very affordable considering it is western tourist price. If you went to a shop that caters to locals that speaks only Vietnamese it's even cheaper.
G’day Travis & Loan, I have been waiting for this video for ages. When Kellie and I visited Da Nang in 2019, Kellie got 4 x verniers & she looked amazing afterwards. Being from Australia she got quotes $ 15,000 to do it in Australia, in Da Nang $ 1,500 . I got a clean & filling $25 Aussie. Now I need a wisdom tooth removed you didn’t mention wisdom tooth. My dentist quoted me about $ 4,000 Aussie to remove it, in 2019 I was quoted $ 50 Aussie. Coming in October 2025 for 5 week break & some wisdom teeth removal. All my buddies think I am lying to them when I tell them & how in hygienic Vietnam must be. Stuff them see you in 12 months time beers on me. Cheers Louis & Kellie 👍
Awesome prices. I was talking with a dental hygienist on one of my visits. She did not understand why implants are so expensive in the U.S. She said the procedure is so standardized, it should be less expensive. Great that your girlfriend got quality dental work done. I believe Invisalign is expensive due to being a brand name of clear teeth aligners.
Great video. Root canals are from $1500 to $3250 in San Francisco area. Implants 10k. Braces $7-10k. Invisalign is so expensive there not because of the dentist but because of the company Invisalign. They have trademark on liners. Fillings are $300-700. Routine cleanings are $250-450. Thanks for the info on that clinic. I’ll use them when I’m there
Wow. I'm an interior designer and who ever did the decor, it's spot on. We will be in DaNang in March and I cant wait to stay there. Thanks, Travis, for showing this place.
Love your insightful videos and perspective on SEA, particularly Vietnam. I just retired and looking to spend a solid 6 months to a year living in a really nice high rise w pool and gym so I can get away from the world I know and focus on healthy living, building awesome gym and eating/drinking habits that I can take into my retirement. I’m 57 yr old American guy. Thanks for your thoughts.

Now that is a sandwich and only $8. At Subway it would cost about $40-50 USD. I tried to eat a huge sandwich like that once and my jaw actually locked open. I had to pop it back into place. Scared me.
Excellent information Travis. Greetings from Japan. I have a question I plan to arrive in Hanoi on Dec 28, 2024 and I will stay only 8 days (I plan to apply for 90 days tourist visa) but I want to apply in time. When is the visa effective from the day I apply or from the day I enter Vietnam. Can I apply in November 2024? Thank you very much for your help !by the way my nationality does need a visa. Im from Peru
You will enter your dates and the visa will be granted for those specific dates. Since you have plenty of time you might as well put your entry date a few days earlier than you arrive and add some extra time on the back end as well. You can enter any time after the approved date on the visa. You can apply any time, but do it at least a few weeks ahead of time you have time to fix any errors that might happen.
Yes I live in Da Nang. Join my travel group, we answer a lot of questions there and will be helpful for your trip. There are many places on the northern end of the beach or between DN and Hoi An I can recommend. www.skool.com/travel-vietnam-6703/about
