The "science" that underpins climate change consists of wild exaggerations by UN agencies and by scientists who want research funding to keep flowing in their direction and will distort their papers to claim that there's a threat. How do we know its an exaggeration? Only about 150 scientific papers that say that a doubling of CO2 will cause less warming than the IPCC predicts, which incidentally provides data that shows that CO2 will take more than 150 years to double.

This wood is being sold on to be burnt in fireplaces and stoves. The government has extensive scientific and medical evidence on how harmful this wood smoke is, costing our community $billions in health and premature death costs alone. The carbon and methane released is also contributing to climate change. Rather than acting to reduce harm, our environment is being destroyed to perpetuate what is largely recreational lifestyle burning. Less than 10% of homes are using wood stoves in Melbourne where most Victorians live, yet this causes more than half the harmful toxic PM2.5 air pollution caused by humans, much more than motor vehicles, according to EPA Victoria. The Victorian Government should be acting on full and honest risk assessment rather than business as usual.

This is clearfell logging. They want the vertical trees not the 3 year old fallen stuff. Barkstead, Wombat Creek Road and Osborne Road are all 4 hectare square traditional logging coupes. They shuffle a few fallen ones around but only ever wanted the big fat healthy ones. They leave so many branches on the ground that make a mockery of their claims to be mitigating fires. The fuel load is more not less after they leave. And VicForests operated at a loss of $105m over the past 2 years. So this makes no sense on any level. Criminal stuff and not a single column inch in our lobby-group owned media.

And when these areas burn they will blame climate change, nothing to do with the dead trees that fuel the fires then?

Aw, I didn't know you'd posted this! Nice one! And tee hee to the "bated (baited) breath" pun, which I'm sure was intended. Here're the lyrics, in case anyone hadn't worked them out: Oh, where are the Giant Spider Crabs? They’ve only arrived in dribs and drabs They were due in June on the Strawberry moon By their thousands appearing by the pier Let's hope this year isn’t fallow May they soon festoon every bayside shallow Next full moon high to our shores and coves Let Leptomithrax gaimardii come a scuttling in droves

The reason for the increase in zebra fish could be people confusing them with Luderick? There aren’t any Luderick on your percentage of bony fish graph.

Fantastic video. For a long time, I thought megafires was a result of lack of prescribed burning. But this video makes a lot of sense. Forest fire management needs to align with these findings.

There was recently a Hearing into a particular sand miner extracting sand from below the water table. The outcome of this Hearing was not made publicly available. To me this alone speaks volumes about why it is all kept secret. Disgraceful.

A Saturday morn spent listening to these night birds with added morning background of grey shrike thrush song and occasional magpie from Providence Gully. Such bird song joy over breakfast. Thank you to Museum Victoria and VNPA, plus Connecting Country and landholders for this sharing from Saide
