Iain Tyrrell from "Tyrrell's Classic's" use a piece of rubber hose to his ear when he's adjusting carburettors. It keeps out other sounds from the enviroment.
Correct, and it’s easier to monitor faults by aiming a temp laser gun at the downpipes at various throttle openings so you don’t have to shove sharp objects down your carbs. Unfortunately having stacks means the tiniest spec of dirt blocks up the pilot circuit.
Dave, you are like a very few people that however old you are "we know" who you are. Somewhere I have a photo of you on a Norton at Grebba Castle area with smoke pouring from that THING, /mid 70s keep safe, dont fall over and brake anything, just keep safe. .
I was at a race meeting and Percy was on Sam and in the open pits, Percy let me sit on Sam. Probably because we had met before because he tried to by my parents home by the A45 opposite what was then the Triumph Service station (cars), next to Windmill Farm, now a golf course!

@@lindae60 I'll see for the channel, thanks. I'm still a French TT 🇮🇲 enthusiast and I hope to go there one day. I love racing machines, and Japanese 4 cylinders I have been driving since 1985 in gsxr, and my latest acquisition is a gsxr 1000 r L8 origins limited n °14, France 🇫🇷. That's a Great Honour bestowed on Phil Reads Sons.May his memory remain in the achievements he had accomplished in the hight of his Motor Racing Carrier.
Phil was looking frail there. I last saw him 2 years before he died signing books in Birmingham with his wife helping out. Had a conversation and he appreciated meeting someone who knew his achievements back in the 60s and 70s. One of the best riders GB ever had.
Fair to say, for those who don't know, that they won that edition of the 1976 Bol d'Or against the likes of Christian Sarron, Jean-François Baldé, Yvon DuHamel, Jack Findlay, Eric Offenstadt and many other great drivers. The 70's were awesome !!! Thank you for sharing the video. 👍👌
I remember a documentary I watched here on RU-vid, about the Norton's at the TT with Dave Croxford and Peter Williams. It was fantastic, what a pair of boys 👍🏼🏍️
We could appreciate a starter dolly down in the collection area, the bikes get hellish-hot !!!! just a suggestion, let me know if you agree plz...Alex.
