This song lives rent free in my mind about once every two months or so. Absolutely spectacular & vulnerable incantation of it. Thank you for capturing it so eloquently to video Phil!
Great song. Great example of what happens to sixties political/folk culture in July 2024. Is there a scintilla of relevance remaining, or is it now all about 'making a living' in winery culture?
Writing a lot of your own iconic songs these days, or back in the late 70's there Eamonn? Playing lots of shows at classy venues in wine country? Of course you're just asking questions, but it also seems like throwing some pretty heavy shade. What exactly is Dr.Cockburn supposed to be doing with his time? Since you asked.
I am a big fan. I meant no disrespect to BC, only commenting on how times have changed! Maybe I deserved your super smart ass response, but tbh I don’t really think so …
@@EamonnMorris-xf8et The consensus seems to be that your lament about the state of the world kind of gets lost in the word brew there dude. Glad to hear your a fan too. Respectfully, what should we be doing instead of the JT amphitheater on a Saturday night then?
It’s entertainment, period. When Mr. Cockburn sat down to write this song, he was applying his art. He wasn’t trying to repair what you perceive are the problems of the world. Those things are left to the whiny folk who complain about the state of life yet take no action to improve it.
You may not realize but Bruce has hit a new high bar with O Sun O Moon, best album of his career, he might be paying the bills but he's deepening his craft as well. This guy was deep now he's deeper...
If you kept politics and religion out of the conversation the world would would be a better place.....I did not make that up but, I agree....let the music do the talking
Inspiring to see Neil Young, Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and the young guy on rhythm guitar, whose name I don't know. It's interesting hearing Neil go off on some guitar excursions in the theme, which is a great one in "Powderfinger". Crazy Horse goes out there with him, and we go out there too.
@@charlesbolton8471Thanks , and also I should have thanked you for sharing the video. One of my all time favourite Neil tunes. I have been reluctant to watch any RU-vid videos of the tour. For fear of regret. Decided not to see him on the tour. Ticket prices were crazy in Toronto. I have seen him maybe a dozen times so have to be happy about that.
