I love a musical challenge. Something that's not immediately pleasant to western ears can end up being more fulfilling in the long run. And Indian music in particular I think really hits that spot for me. I like cultural music from all over but there's something about Indian music I find particularly appealing.
Exception: American national anthem. Some races of people in America don't want to sing the anthem American style. They insist on singing it Indian style, making it almost unrecognizable. It should ONLY be sung American style.

Ghost music. And that is a scale?!? It sounds so out of tune to me... sorry, I don't want to offend, just I find it so hard to listen to and probably taste is developed with what you are used to. Thanks to your video I now get that this is how it is suposed to sound like and I find it... strange. Ok. Wierd... I find it crazy. Sorry. I strugle to be more open minded, I though I just don't like oriental/ arabic music. No idea why, it has nothing to do with the people. So it's the "gamakam" that I don't actualy like, it has a name!
