I feel for you... seems like every car out there had to make the "dat drag race doe!" argument for a lap before realizing you were lapping 8" faster than them.
Running Dunlop Z1 Star Spec tyres, same as a bunch of other guys in the series. Cameras used are GoPros, datalogger is a Racelogic PerformanceBox, and video overlays are done with DashWare.
Car looked like it had heaps of grip in the wet- what tyres do you run in this series. We liked seeing the telementary on the youtube clip. What type of camera or app does that
That 458 looked like it was considerably faster than the scud in a straight line? I would have got frustrated I have to say. Looks like you only got about three mins of clear track!
It's basically rebuilt with a new, tungsten-inserted crankshaft, fully balanced bottom end, Arrow Precision rods, pocketed Omega pistons, bigger valves, ported head, Piper ARK 1444 cams and verniers. It's making about 215bhp at 8000RPM on a conservative tune, about 225bhp once we fully tune her up to 8500RPM. A better exhaust and some improvements to the throttle bodies should see a bit more power too. I'm also running a Quaife 6-speed gearbox, which helps get the power to the ground too.
Thanks, yeah I'm still pretty rusty after about 4 years out of the car and not doing many trackdays, but if the car pays nice I'll get plenty of practice in the next year or so and smooth out my driving a lot :)
1:16 flat to high 1:15s now. Should be able to shave some more time off pretty easily with some more practice and some fine tuning. A little more power and better rubber should see some more time off again :)
