Very very excited!!! This will blow a&nt n hughesnet out of the water speed n stability wise.... been waiting for this to be available for a very long time!:)
Brian I for one would like to thank you Thank you for you thoughfulness and positive attiude of you and your family May God bless your farm and your efforts Continue doing good for you and your community I really like your high tunnels (greenhouses) If I may inquire there demension height , width, and length ? Do you have roll up sides ? Are they automated ? Your outside garden How do you combat weeds Temp control ?
Most excellent. I would like to do this type of work. I'm currently trying to get into the trade. Do similar work on a micro scale at an Airport. Up to 34.5KV, all under ground. Have climbed before for CATV. Miss that part of the job. Not the converter box being thrown at me, because they were mad at TCI now Charter, or who knows what else. LOL
hm, seems like the rescue lineman should split the handline and have a ground man stabilize the vic, while he cuts his belt, otherwise that guy will likely hit the dirt like a sack of potatoes.. just sayin'..
They are neat to look at, for a short period of time. After a little while, you start realizing the impact of these things on the world around them. Wildlife stays away because of noise and vibration, and people's property values go down- nobody wants to live listening to the whoosh-whoosh-whoosh. If this power actually stayed here in Michigan, it might actually make it worth having them.
The wind is easily our biggest and easiest source of energy. The sun properly generates more energy but heat is incredibly hard to harvest and cost way to much to be worthwhile compared to wind. Not to use the power of the wind would be completely retarded and with the whole fuel issue, just use energy as fuel for the cars. Using petrol is a waste and fucking stupid.
@pacificcresttrans you think that has anything to do with the fact that the USA is fucking huge. Take the wind power production of Europe and compare it to the USA and you will see numbers that are actually relevant
@tp72chev Freakin'a burn more coal! Screw those people on the wrong side of town. Screw the environment. All that matters is your property value go up and you have electricity. How many of you does it take to screw in a light bulb? One, all you have to do is hold onto the bulb and the world revolves around you. Freakin' NIMBY, no wonder the US is slowing down in technological progress, people like you can accept no change.
Actually, surveys consistently show 70%-80% support for wind power, since it is the cleanest large-scale power source. Wind farms around the world have surprisingly become tourist attractions. And just wait until the petroleum available for the U.S. to import begins dropping by 10% every year. That will put a stop to gaswasting terrorist supporters who drive around and whine about wind turbines.
No evidence suggests wind turbines have any significant impact on lowering the wind forces while grabbing its energy to turn the wind turbine. So, wind turbines would have no affect on reducing the impact of hurricane force winds; any wind turbines installed in a hurricane area would in all likelihood NOT operate during periods of high winds. The Harvest Wind Farm turbines shut down after 10 minutes should winds reach a sustained speed of 45 mph, and shut down immediately at 72 mph.
I was always wondering, if there were a huge number of these wind turbines, located near Hurricane areas, would these lower the wind forces while grabbing the energy? I know that forests have great impact on weakening the wind's power.
