Hello there! I am Elenya Frost, a cosplayer from Austria mostly known for my Star Wars cosplays - I do however love a whole lot of other franchises too! I am mostly into craftsmanship, I love learning new techniques and therefore I am building armor, sewing garments, making my own silicone creations and soooo many other things. I also own an Etsy shop for selling my cosplay patterns if you're in search for something specific! This channel is mostly home to crafting tutorials and reels that I create on my cosplay journey :)
Niceee.
Would be cool if you had equivalent American Amazon links and what the equivalent measurements are in inches. I'm finding it tough to find 1 to 1 measurements. I bought the pattern as well and beginning work on this soon.
I am not from the US which makes it really hard for me to provide links for you also bc they often change or sell out and then I would have to maintain them every few days - but I heard that Joann's is a great start to find resources :)
@@elenyafrost For any Americans reading the comments: The foam dowel is called backer rod and I bought 3/4" on Amazon to be equivalent to 18 mm. The upholstery foam is Pellon Naked Flex-Foam Style #76 - can be purchased at Joann's. For glue I used Uhu and Contact Cement. For wire I just got 14 gauge aluminum.
FYI the link to the kids We Love Colors tights in the description is not big enough for this project. You will be too short and not have enough material for the dart. I just ordered the adult tights in the largest possible size and that was perfect. I think this is because originally they were using a now discontinued pair of tights for kids that probably had more material.
@elenyafrost No problem thank you, Elenya. I sent an email on Instagram to ask a couple of questions. I can't seem to be able to email you on Etsy. Sending love and thank you for your reply 🙏
I will try to do one for my Fizzaroli cosplay , but i don't know how to "wrap" the dowel very well, actually i just can't do it without a "pattern", do you have some tips ?(i'm 11 so... i don't know how to cauculate the pattern thing very well😅)
@@elenyafrost I bought your pattern and will use it for a Moxxie tail. Wish me luck 🤞 I sadly cannot get the same quality of tights here. Hopefully I can sew them somehow.
@@elenyafrost Thanks for your reply ❤️ I'm almost finished. I had to sew the tights by hand though, because my sewing machine isn't working atm. Maybe I can go over it at my friend's place the day before the convention 🥲 And I had to change the crafting process a bit due to the difference in materials available, but your pattern and tutorial video really helped out a lot. For example, the white foam couldn't be glued together but I could sew it by hand around the dowel. And the tail tip was made out of rather sturdy felt because I had no EVA foam at home. I will try to attach the tail to a belt. I hope it works out somehow. Thanks a lot ❤️
Please be more careful with the contact cement!! It's super toxic. I highly recommend working in a very well ventilated area and wearing a respirator and using gloves so it doesn't get on your skin. Stay safe and keep crafting! The tail looks awesome :)
this tutorial is amazing!! you changed the twi lek cosplay game with this , finally I don't have to worry about dropping a ton of money on latex 😭 tysm!!
hi. can you help? where can we get the "foam dowel" I'm looking everywhere online abd I cut fund it. if I can't find ut at my local arts abd crafts store do you recommend any other foam?
Hiii, awesome timing. I was inspired and bought your Garsa Lekku Patterns last week and I'm looking forward building them. My first foam project :) Thank you for the video! Two additional questions: 1. Should i cut all the paper patterns pages directly on the cut lines and then line them up or leave a little overlap and use the cut line as a alligning reference? 2. What is the best way to transfer the markings and letters on the paper patterns to the foam. For example after transfering the pattern to the foam and cutting it out. My first tought was maybe mark the foam on the side, remove the paper and then draw the markings on the top of the foam? Especially how do I do it on the mirrored pieces? Thank you very much :) Cheers from South Germany Marcel
Thank you soooo much Elenya! I've been following you for over two years now and I really find your work INCREDIBLEEEEE^^ I will be able to make my two Lekku for my OC without worry NOW!❤
This was super helpful! I just have one question: how did you attach the tail to your body/clothes? I'm making a tiefling tail for one of my cosplays and i'm at a bit of stand still when it comes to how i'm going to attach it to my belt. Great tutorial, thank you! <3
