The lighthouse is in desperate need of refurbishment todays date is 30th may 2024 it looks awful, wonder when the last time this iconic place was painted?

It appears everything worked as designed. The road is obviously designed with the low section as a part of the flood area. All the infrastructure and buildings seem fine due to their elevations.
That building 1.07 which we know as the sandcastle looks out of place there now. It's always been blocky and chunky but with all the other buildings around it it looks even more so. It's not a listed building and I don't think that it will get listed status and tbh I think it looks a lot past it's sell by date and whoever owns it the council should start talks with them about acquiring it and demolishing it and putting something contemporary and more aesthetic than a tired looking 1970's building
