I get asked all the time how do you do that? What is your process? How do you have time?Where do you store all that? What's you recipe?Where did you buy that? How much was that trip? How did you make that quilt? So after lots of encouragement and a really supportive team I am here to show you "The Ellis Way".I have had to teach myself to do things through the years and have learned from others what to do and what not to do!My husband loves to grow a garden way bigger than we need so I have to be creative in storing, canning, and preparing meals. He also likes to hunt and we process our own meat. Also at the request of my daughters I will be writing my recipes and sharing.Travel is my favorite thing from Mission Trips, Fishing Trips to Alaska, Cruises, Beach Vacays, Florida trips to see the fam, Big City Trips, and many others.History is my passion and quilting is my hobby.Working full time and raising three daughters I had to learn to create shortcuts, get organized, multitask, and live life!
What type of tomatoes do you use and which do you find the most tasty for tomato soup and spaghetti sauce? The powder in your containers is two different colors, does the color change as the powder ages or is it due to part of the tomato you dehydrated? You have the best toys!
They were different types. They can also change color due to process times. The more actual meat of the tomato will be darker. I use Bradley for the taste and Romas for the density.
I would caution storing for any length of time in sheet bags, quilt bags, & the like; they’re usually not acid free, not safe for our fabrics, quilts, etc., or even storing the items in the from purchase.🫶
Texas...All public waterways and publicly owned bodies of water are strictly considered owned by the public so the water isn't allowed to be used 'free of charge'...In other words you have to be permitted to use it and pay for what you use...Since every "lake" in texas is the result of daming they are essentially a waterway as well so lakefront property owners still can't draw water at will here either...
Yeah, I was just wondering if it was different than here. Here you can't even draw it to water landscape or any other use for that matter without being permitted and billed. I wasn't trying to be rude in any manner and was a bit confused when I was called a 'troll' for asking a legitimate question. Thanks...Sombody get william a tranquilizer...Nice looking garden, by the way...
Where are you? I can understand not draining a pond dry or to obstruct water flow. We have a lot of rivers, creeks, and springs.Farmers use water from wherever they can get it. It all ends back to were it came from. We are on well water and don't pay a dime for the water... but the electric to run the well isn't so cheap;) and it will run dry if we are not careful.. like when watering a large garden!!! (I did not think you were being rude) we love getting questions and learning about others!
No one owns any water running through land! They own the land around it and under it but not the water unless it is a self-sustaining pond on their property. Besides the spring on our property feeds it along with the watershed on the entire hillside we live on.
@@timwhite7127 you do if you alter the water way in anyway. Like if we decided to create a dam with our spring. Also if you withdraw more than 10,000 gals a day. We don’t draw near that and we are up hill so it ends up right back where it started since it is a watershed!
Its not a safe procedure to pressure can summer squash or zucchini (you can zucchini with tomatoes) but it turning to mush and compacting is why its not safe
I have been canning squash and zucchini for years. People have been canning it for over 100 yrs. I can with tomatoes at times too. I cold pack which helps keep it from compacting and it is all still the same as the day it was canned. Its the same constancy as boiling and freezing. A lot of people do not have freezer space so I was showing an alternative. My preferred method is freezing! Due to the lack of acidity, If you are canning it is best to pressure can.
Wow! I'm going to try the light deal. We have bull flies really bad right now and they are attracted to my computer screen...and me! Thanks for the share.
