(Not trying to be a turd. I'm a complete synth beginner but with plenty of manufacturing experience). Can anyone answer if the circuit board was designed by Arturia? Did Arturia sell the IP to the Chinese board manufacturer or did the Chinese own it the whole time? There's another company other than B using the same board. Just different plastic, logo, and firmware. Often companies will sell IP to China if they go through a financial slump. There's just a lot to the story we dont seem to know. I get it though, to end users it feels lame.
hey, if you know damn well you have no talent, you can buy one of these and further dilute the actual rarified good music in the world and tell all your friends you are a musician! no 'practice makes perfect' needed!
Had this on pirate tape sometime in 1989 (just after the UK release) - I think the going rate was a tenner a tape back then? (if memory serves) Anyway, it lay under the TV for months as Bruce Willis wasn't well known then and we didn't watch it until we had absolutely nothing else and there was nothing else on TV that night (I think it was august '89 before we watched it) ha ha! We couldn't believe how good it was and I must have watched it over two dozen times since!
Totally different devices. I have zero interest in an MPC, but I use the Field daily. It's a lot more capable than it appears. But if you have no need of the portability aspect, you can get by with other devices instead.
As Arturias CEO said, "I don't care, is just flattering to be copied" If one want the real deal then buy it, if you want the same sound, go Behringer, , I owned several Moog's the mini, prodigy and more, and I think that the last real moog was the Little phatty, which bob Moog designed, then nothing special has come out, maybe moog one, but since Inmusic bought moog, and relocated, they killed the Moog brand , look where Akai went ,just downhill, the most that talk about Moog, haven't owned a real vintage Moog or even ha been near one, so this behringer "hate" is dead like the recent Pandemic, cheers🙏
Unfortunately there is nothing like this. Yes, everyone always comes back with the deluge, the ___ and the ____ etc, etc. It is overpriced, but there is nothing like it. Why can’t we get a behringer clone of it? Or why can’t Akai, or NI (pretty much a dying company but still) just make their own version of this? I love the op-1 field, loooove it, but it is way overpriced.
Maybe it's because I came across the op-1 after using convenient samplers like mpc or ni maschine, but I can't help but think that it's an expensive toy. The worst part is that it doesn't have a quantize function yet.
2024, jus got one today and ran into exact problem. After reset it works! 😉. Huge thanks, got it used. I bet previous owner had same issue. Might be a software glitch. But this was a grt work around also. It's also stuck in 16, and the FX is not doing a thing. I will try to figure that out. Appreciate ya!
I've had the OG one some years ago, and I feel the same. I wanted it so much for like 10 years and then in 4 days of pure hate for that machine I did sell it.
I agree 100%. My old VHSrips looks so much better than their digital release counterparts. Stuff like Terminator, Aliens, Robocop, The Hidden is so better on VHS (in open-matte also with more image).
