My dad had one of these. I remember riding in the back with my brother. It was the same colour too.

Things not much bigger than a Legends car. Would make a heck of a little hot rod.

My father had a black Rover 14 in the mid sixties in Birmingham, it was the first car I ever ‘Filled up’ as a 4-5 year old, unfortunately it was soil and gravel and not petrol I put in the tank, he wasn’t best pleased 😂 I loved that car, but it was replaced with an ex works LWB Series 2a….. I couldn’t reach the fuel cap on that one 🤔

Beauty is a harmony of design and purpose. That is why vintage cars are so beutiful because their design was result of only fulfilling purposes.

Got a long snout to accommodate the six, sporty or we xtra refined? Should'nt really say snout about auntie! It does go to show that Rover jumped ahead decade by decade and produced really good motor cars that breathed refinement

We have to give two thumbs up to Cecil Kimber. This man should have been knighted.

Beautiful car - leather seats from that era seem to have worn much better than the modern stuff.

I have read that, in spite of synchromesh gear boxes being common in the 30's Rover was late to the party in putting synchro on 2nd gear, witness, Land Rover and possibly post war sedans.

You are quite right. However, a Rover box of the period is actually very user friendly and of course their freewheel system was designed to get around that problem.
