Was born in ‘74, so I had the joy of spending my pocket money on the first original transformers, and to me those are the only vintage toys, anything after the 80s are not original vintage toys. They don’t have the look or feel or actual nostalgia attached to the ORIGINAL ones, if you weren’t born or actually around buying and playing with them then you have absolutely no idea of how it feels to see a genuine original boxed one, I’ve recently started collecting some toy lines from in my life time which I actually experienced, the good thing for me is I only plan on replacing ones I actually owned at different times, what’s the point on buying or trying to track down something that has actual no true attachment to your life experience, a lot of these collections are just collecting for the sake or bragging rights of collecting, means nothing to me I’m afraid, only comment or watch to actually diss the people making the videos. Stick to things you actually experienced. It would be like me hey look I just bought a toy from the 1960’s which I have absolutely no attachment too just for the sake of owning that thing. Pointless, pure pointless.
@@northeast7412 First of all you don’t know me at all, so how can you possibly declare my experience or know what attachments I have? Second of all I absolutely do have attachments to all of this. You assume a lot and feel the need to troll? Why? Are you just an unhappy person? Jealous? Who knows 🤷 My first figures were G1 toys from the 1987-1990 range… a lot of what I grew up buying were G2 toys that very specifically were G1 molds in different colors. The original cartoon was syndicated and playing after school and on Saturdays so I fell in love with the same characters. I would go to Blockbuster and rent VHSs of the episodes and the 86 movie. I had catalogs that showed me all the rest of G1 and I would stare and salivate over all those toys that represented the characters I saw on screen but couldn’t possibly own because they came out too long ago. Then little vintage shops at local malls started carrying transformers and I saved up my pocket change trying to track down characters I never had access to. When computers started coming out I would design foldable paper transformers in whatever MSPaint style program existed in the 90s… I eventually made a geocities site dedicated to it called Make Your Own Transformers. I used those catalogs and photos I could find online at the time to help me figure out how they transformed so I could make my own. I even butchered a few junkers I found at garage sales along with some modeling clay and paint to make my own Arcee figure… With the help of the internet and the existence of eBay, I continued to have my parents help me track down figures I was missing for every birthday, christmas, etc… The internet also introduced me to a whole side of transformers that never came out in the US and it was like showing a kid the secret back room full of untold secrets… all of that inspired me to finish out G1. During all of this time I still actively kept up with BW, BM, Armada, Energon Cybertron etc… I had a goal of owning every single Transformer ever 😆 I eventually realized that that goal was impossible because the brand kept chugging along (not a bad thing)… As an adult, I wanted to be able to appreciate the figures in my display and give them breathing room so I eventually sold off literal 100s of figures but still chose to keep about 5-6 per faction of those lines I collected because they still represented the community and experiences I had growing up, the online communities and chat groups (then eventually the forums). I remember being part of new episode watch parties, drooling over online reveals etc … Every single thing in my room represents part of my personal journey and experience with these figures and the fandom. I would even argue the way I included the shadow boxes and the choice of characters for the back wall art piece all showcase my personal journey with this brand over the years… it’s not just stuff I bought because I could. Heck, even the main wall being displayed the way it is with MPs in the back and Vintage in alt mode is to harken back to those catalogs and the way the characters were laid out in the spreads I literally shadow boxed my very first 80s transformers because of how important they were… I paid waaaaaay too much money to commission Dan Khanna to make that Technobots piece for me on the back wall because those toys represent what started my passion…. January of this year I splurged and paid for a private meet and greet with Cullen and Welker because I wanted to meet the architects of my childhood. I was able to sit and chat with them for about 5 minutes … which doesn’t seem like a long time but it really was when you were the only one in the room with them. I got to share some of my story and my collection space, I got to ask them questions, get autographs, photos and personalized voice recordings… it as an experience I will cherish forever. How dare you assume my experience and act like somehow you’re better than another collector because of it? Do you see me trying to be some kind of influencer? My channel is about shoes 😆 I just happen to love Transformers and wanted to share my curated space because I figured other collectors could appreciate the layouts, the OCD in setups and arrangements of characters, and just generally appreciate the journey and evolution of this franchise over the years. I hope something in life brings you joy, because you come off as a miserable human being
I just came back to these videos. I been using zagg protectors for 10 years now. They hold up for years. I was buying the tablet size. I just purchased another pair of louboutins and all zagg makes now is glass screen protectors. I went on ebay to find the plexiglass screen protectors. I put zagg protectors on 8 pairs of my shoes. This last pair was a challenge finding the zagg protectors even on ebay. I found a seller with the old zagg plexi protectors for iPad mini and I brought 4 of them in case i buy more loubs. I think I'm done. Anyway, it seems that zagg only makes glass protectors now for phones and tablets.
@@rickphilly1975 sadly I’ve been running into the same issue … I thankfully have about 5 backups … but I agree; the protectors have been great for me! I’ve gotten more into the sneakers the last few years and I don’t do anything special with the soles on those… but I guess we’ll all have to figure out something else :(
@LouboutinReviews it's been a few years since I bought new loubs and it never occurred to me that they wouldn't have the zagg protectors available anymore. I got lucky this time.
You collection is amazing! I hope we get an updated video soon. Have you gotten the new characters including Overkill, Slugfest, Battlechargers, Punch and the other new ones?
@@georgeantypas5529 I might have to do a yearly update around November 🤔 I decided to pass on that cassette pack, but I did grab the battle chargers, Punch, XTB Quintesson, a MISB reissue Prime and Megatron and a bunch more little Prime/Megatron figures, I got duplicate vintage triple changers for the Autobots and a bunch of WST Sixshots to display his other molds … a bunch of smoke/blast effects and replaced a few of my KO/reissue/custom vintage pieces. So lots of small changes, but always tweaking :)
@@lego_mateo127 I appreciate it!!! I’ve been going around the room and tweaking some things, making the MP poses more dynamic and adding a bunch of smoke and blast effects etc. I always enjoy the little changes :)
@@rageanoid4867 the signed helmets are super cool! I bought that pair pre signed before I was confident I could meet them in person… this past January I was able to drive to Louisiana and did a cool meet and greet with them both and had them sign a second set for me to keep forever (I sold the first Megatron and holding onto the Prime for a local fan at some point) … and yeah, that giant Unicron is just so bad ass with the rings 😆
@@finderskeeperz8363 thank you!!! I’m continually tweaking things and creating more dynamic poses for the MP etc but keeping it sleek and classy is always the end game :)
@@worldloganone7693 I’m very aware of all the random extra seekers etc too but I have no interest in adding them to my collection. For the most part (Arcee being an exception) I don’t really care about characters that never had toy representations in the vintage lines. Vintage is my first love … all about completing those catalog check lists 😂 and then I like displaying them side by side with MP representations
It definitely can… with expensive card holders, I don’t like to “over stuff” them… I usually have my ID, my medical insurance card, and 2-3 credit/debit cards. I wouldn’t stuff a wad of cash in there and stretch it out, but like a couple bills are fine no problem :)
Love how clean and organized your collection is. I have seen a lot of collections where they are just all crowded together it does no good for each individual caricature.Amazing.
I do! I probably moved too fast over some of the shelves … but they’re on the very top right of the “Autobot Wall” right above the Fortress Maximus :) And thanks!! I did a lot of crazy planning trying to fit everyone in a way that “made sense” to me 😂
Hi Bobby! Love your vids. I’m a Louboutin newbie and I can’t find these protectors to buy anywhere. HELP!! Where can I buy them??? Also, do you put protectors on your tennis shoes for t just your hard bottoms?
Great questions!!! So with the sneakers I don’t because I can basically just wipe them off when I get home :) I was more worried about the actual red painted leather getting ripped up. The issue I also have with the protectors now is that everyone has moved to the “glass” ones. Your best bet is to search eBay for “iPad Zagg original” and just make sure the listing doesn’t say glass anywhere.. there is an HD one that’s ok, as long as it’s not HD glass. If the photos show the back of the box and it mentions anything about a squeegee then you should be good to go! I honestly have been more focused on the sneakers lately so I haven’t needed to buy new protectors in a while, but that’s what I used to do :) I hope that helps and best of luck!! They’re beautiful shoes!!
@@LouboutinReviews Thank you!! You’re amazeballs!! Just in case I can’t find the Zagg’s, are there any other protector’s you recommend? I’ve seen a lot of other videos but I trust your opinion since you are the KING of Loubies. ❤️❤️👠
@@Empress_BX I haven’t used them, but honestly the next best thing are those glossy red “vibram” replacement soles. In theory, some people buy the shoes and replace them immediately but I feel like I would want to let my pair wear naturally first and then replace. Back when I first did this years ago the only red vibram was a dull, darker red and to me it ruined the whole look… the new shiny red ones seem pretty awesome, but I can’t speak from personal experience how they are, just that that would be my next thing to try for myself
Those also require a cobbler that you trust… and I don’t have one of those yet 😂 Most major cities will have ones that work with luxury shoes, and in theory any local Louboutin boutique can recommend a preferred one in the area
The pucks are hard wired … since I have a combination of wood and glass shelves I only put the pucks on the wood… for the higher shelves I actually drilled holes and ran the wires flat along the top so they appear built in from normal standing and sitting heights …. And then for the lower ones I drilled a small hole in the backing directly under the shelf and ran the wires underneath. I love how it came out but might be better options for someone with all wood or all glass. If it’ll let me share a link, I’ll share a post I made over at TFW2005 with a bunch of pictures :)
Appreciate it!!! I’m constantly tweaking things but I was too excited about the room reboot to not share right away 😆 I can only imagine the face my 12 year old self would make if I told him this is where he’d be eventually!
Lucky for me this is in a “media room” of our house and it has no windows or walls touching the outside … so it’s super insulated and I closed the main vent to the room… I’m not saying dust doesn’t get in there, but it collects WAAAAAY slower than anywhere else in the house. I’m a teacher so I usually take my time off in the summer to give the room a full dusting and to be honest it doesn’t look too obvious even only doing it once a year. Some of the highest shelves I didn’t dust for a few years and it was surprisingly not so bad 🤣 🤣
@@LouboutinReviews hahahahah that is absolutely legendary. I just told my wife when we move we need a house that has a room with no windows for this very reason!
Thank you!! Although I don’t actively collect mainline figures I do keep tabs on what comes out :). That Metroplex is too stylized from the G1 cartoon model for the look I want in my display… and most of what comes out at retail doesn’t scale with my Masterpiece figures either. Honestly, I love aspects of every toyline, but I had to draw the line somewhere or run out of room 😆
Like I said in the video tour, if the 1986 movie was being made today, Thundercracker and Skywarp becoming Scourge and Cyclonus and the Insecticons being the Sweeps would make the most sense … so that’s what I go with 😆 Plus, this reformatting sequence just looks cooler for display, and there are no Translucent Bombshells on the market to make that display anyway
Thanks!!! So like close ups of all the individual shelves? I originally just did a quick overview of the space but for sure it goes a little quick if you’re wanting a closer look. Just confirming that’s what you meant and not details about the physical bookcases themselves
Thanks!!!! What I collect has slowed down enough that I decided to funnel that collection money into the display itself… and even I impressed myself with how well it all came together 😆 a vision I’ve had for about 8 years now and just finally got around to doing the end of last summer. That said, I also paired down and sold off a lot of older lines so that helped pay for some of the major room upgrades
Thanks!!! So all of that is IKEA … it’s the normal Billy Bookcases and they sell the glass shelves separately… it added up for a room this size but for a smaller display it’s totally worth it! I also added the extra row of shelves on top of the Billy’s that they sell for you to take advantage of ceiling height. The only thing “custom” is the led puck lights I got from Amazon and I drilled holes and ran wires above the upper wood shelves and below the lower wood shelves to appear as built in as possible :)
@@LouboutinReviews that's awesome and very cool to hear that those can be purchased. Saves some time for sure. Again that's a beautiful setup and collection. I started collecting with the Siege line and have some MP and a few 3rd party figures so the collection is growing and I'd like to get things displayed a bit better. Thanks again for the reply and the video!
@@LionheartRacingSeries of course!!! And best of luck! I’m also a co admin in a Facebook group called Transformers Displays and there are a lot of great ideas there too and a place to share your progress too :)
I wouldn’t mind picking up a high quality KO of him, just for the reminder of what he looked like in the catalog, but I’m trying my best not to go into Diaclone because then I’ll want all of them 🤣 I do have a few pre-transformers that aren’t in this video (binoculars, combo lock, etc) that now live with my G1 Reflector shelf
It’s technically possible but it doesn’t really happen. When you buy a new pair they always come with a small baggie with some extras on the off chance one falls off and you don’t notice. Plus if you have proof of purchase, Louboutin has a way to contact them and they’ll send you replacements. I’ve only once ever had one fall off and it was my fault for hitting something really hard on accident 😂
The dress shoes for me seem to run “true to size.” I’m mostly a 9.5 in most US sizes and I buy a 42.5 in the dress shoes. The sneakers to me feel like they run big and I mostly prefer to buy 42s but sometimes it depends on the material/style … I also do NOT have a wide foot, so if you or anyone reading this does that will play into it. With shoes this expensive, it’s obviously ideal to try them on in a store, but depending where you’re located that may not be available
Same ones … well, my Minerva didn’t have green but has the gold face and black plastic and windows … police car was the same one and I swapped parts with a US Siren to have the light blue parts :)
A lot of those third party combiners aren’t the most fun to transform, but you can’t deny their shelf presence!! When I want to fiddle with a figure, I pull down a G1 … MPs for me are more about posing and display presence.
I guess my first Transformer was considered one of the "Gimmick" ones. I had Getaway till his wheel broke off. He's the mostly white one with the purple windows and blue spoiler. I think he had some Grey trim too?
The shelves are all IKEA… They’re the Billy Bookcases with the top extension shelves … IKEA also sells replacement shelves in glass for all the moveable ones… added up fast to replace them all for a room this size 😂 the lights are daisy chaining pucks off Amazon, but I drilled holes in the upper shelves and ran the wires flat above those shelves so at normal standing heights they appear built in. I’ve got a post on TFW2005 with a lot of photos of the light installation if you’re interested
I would say either a 90 or a 95. I’m 5’8” weigh about 150 and wear a 30in jean most of the time and sometimes up to a 32 in dress pants... I buy a 95 if that helps :)
I will stand on the Skywarp is Cyclonus hill with you. With ideas getting lost in translation and animation errors I believe that Skywarp was intended to be in front but just wasn't animated that way.
I know it was written as Bombshell in the story boards even … but I feel like it was a “rush job” then and if even an ounce of thought was put into it now it would have been Thundercracker and Skywarp becoming the new main baddies! So I retroactively make it that way in my head 😂
Weirdly he shut down the Louboutin specific page and merged it with a new group called Authentic Detective …. But if you search by brand you’ll see posts… the guys name is Al Ex on there if you’re looking for his posts specifically. facebook.com/share/pazHA2GkhNg4Z48a/?mibextid=K35XfP
Thanks!!! I love that it gives me an excuse to display both my vintage figures with their MPs… and seeing them together just brings back my childhood of looking over all those toy catalogs!
