@4:44 "it's like hearing Amazing Grace at Christmas time..?" Of all the hymns he could have mentioned (O Holy Night, Away in a Manger, Joy to the World, Silent Night) he picks one that is not associated with Christmas, or really ANY particular time of year at all!! Might as well have said "it's like hearing Row, Row, Row Your Boat in the state of Wisconsin. We all know that warm, giddy feeling, amirite??" 😂😂
Again, this was week 2, and teams are still working out the bugs. Hollywood Brown is out, so they are altering their game plan a bit. Bengals double teamed Kelce. Orlando Brown Jr, former Chiefs LT, can give Bengals a heads up on how to play against the Chiefs.
Love that you guys are on a new channel. I didn’t subscribe initially because, no offense, but I’m not looking for all the Underdog content. Happy you guys found a spot that is comfortable letting you guys cook.
Last year Will Levis had one entertainingly crazy game and then a bunch of mediocre to lousy games. Was he expected to be a much better player this year because of offseason magic and mayonaise? One of the most understandable yet beguiling tropes of fandom is a fan breaking down game film and citing stats about her/his team to reinforce that the team is actually going to be much better than everyone thinks this year while seemingly ignoring that the quarterback is Charlie Brown throwing to receivers Linus and Linus's blanket behind an o-line of Woodstocks and Lucy subbing in as the placeholder for the kicker. But I'm sure at this week's practice Charlie will learn how to throw the ball forward.
Then you so much Dan and Mark for giving me back the normal and very important part of my favorite part of (as Dave Dameshek would say) the most footballiest time of the year! Full of mirth and heroes. You guys are the best!
I am so over the current pee pants offense the Jags are running and would love to see that team doing anything else at this point. I'm gonna stay up late on Monday and end up regretting it.
The Chiefs are a couple toes, and 1 point away from 0-2. I think they need to be an honorable mention on the pee scale because of how close these games were…
The Jason Kelce stuff felt personal for Dan. I can imagine it would sting that Kelce Brothers make more bank for a few episodes than Dan has made in his life
Conor Orr deserves every song that is written about/for him. He is a true asset to this already wonderful and fun podcast! It's just a matter of time before @HeedTheCallPod can also be referred to as 'award winning podcast'.
