What a Beautiful Journey ❤️ It's an Example of Real Family Bonding and the Love for the Sport of Drag Racing. Now Pro Stock Teams have canopy's For the Crew to work on their cars. And all the good stuff technology and mechanical engineering and development of the sport. But I'm 60 years old and I've been a fan of Bob Glidden since I was a teenager back in the 70,s what a humble guy and decent and a fine human being he and his wife were. He was a Killing Machine in the Pro Stock League. God Bless him his wife and kids,! ❤️🙏
I got my first car around 1982-83 and discovered hot rodding, street racing and nhra prostock. Glidden was my idol and role model. We had one of the only 2 Ford powered dragsters racing at our local bracket track. I even got a job at a mechanic job at a local Ford dealer because of him. My life turned out so good. God bless you Bob and I sure miss seeing you at the track.
❤😂😢😮😅😅😅😅😊😊😊😊😊😊 Bob was better with Ford van Chrysler anyone more with Ford than Chrysler? I’m glad you retired and I’m glad you’re enjoying your retirement. Be nice if you could Bob Taska help him out to win races
❤😂😢😮😅😊😊😊😊😊 yeah Bob, you were a very damn good driver for Ford in the TBird and every time I saw you race I always pick you to win and you did. I met you at Searspoint long time ago. I’m glad you’re doing well. Take it easy and enjoy the video you were driver with Ford, take care
I hate Ford & will always hate it, but Bob Glidden was the greatest Pro Stock driver, mechanic & innovator, just like Big Daddy was the greatest in Top Fuel.
I wonder if Etta is in one of if not all the motorsports halls of Fame? She turned wrenches as good as anyone else hell better than most and won more races as crew chief than 99%
As a Ford Motorsports fan I had Ford heroes in different kinds of racing. With the huge numbers of GM products in drag racing, we Ford fans had few drivers to root for. There was Bob Glidden and his family. His success in Pro stock was amazing to watch. I believe that NHRA changed the rules to quell his dominance. My question to anyone who knows is, why did Ford renege on their contract agreement with Bob and the engine program he worked on? What did he develop, was it used by him or anyone?
I've have always respected Mr. Glidden but they did not say anything about the Fairmont the car that was never out ran and have always wondered what happened to it.
Bob and Etta were two of the Greatest in Racing history, I didnt know that Fucked up Ford screwed over Bob in that last year. FUCK FORD. Seriously FUCK FORD
Not only a great racer but a Great set of parents.. Bob and Etta always had time for everyone in Whiteland. I was a classmate of Rusty's and will never forget Bob bringing a car for career day. 16 gallons to the mile Julie.
Im a big WJ fan, but the Mad dog Bob Glidden was the best Pro Stock racer of the 70s, 80s & 90's..I have so much respect for this man because of his work ethic and his knowledge. His Fix Or Repair Daily cars were fast as hell & beautiful....Rest in Peace Great One!!!
Bob Glidden was a genius at making horsepower, and one hell of a driver. I was fortunate enough to see him race at our home track Cayuga Dragway several times, my favorite car was the Fairmont.
I remember at a race it was unbearably hot and I was feeling REALLY sick. I was thinking I'd die. Then Etta Glidden came by our pit and offered salt pills to everyone. That was it! I was just having salt depletion/heat stroke, not a heart attack. So Etta taught me a lesson I remember and use to this day. When it's really hot I eat something salty. Thanks Etta!
Only Bob Glidden could dominate in a boxy Ford Fairmont! His 351 Clevelands were THE baddest ProStock engines.....EVER. They had to add weight and add weight and add weight..... then go to 500 cid to stop Bob from dominating with his nasty Cleveland small block Ford.
I saw them at Texas Motorplex fall Nats one morning as the sun was coming up, it was around 1989 and He had a new Ford Probe with AR Shotgun hemi, nice folks.
May the Lord bless you Etta, and your family. I missed out on what you all did, but am touched at how you did it. I hope there is a little bit of drag racing in heaven.
