Also, if you need help looking for places to eat you need to go to Northern VA, Southern MD and specific parts of DC. There are so many hole in the walls that are better than any restaurant I have eaten in NYC or LA.
LOL!!!! DC has better food than Dallas, NY and LA. The issue is you don’t know where to look. Pollen ain’t that bad compared to the South. I am from the DMV and NC and SC is way worst.
So I'm going to say this as a Washingtonian. DC has its problems and it has its perks. Please name on city that doesn't? You said you ate from Philly? Philly has a whole lot more problems than dc and the crime rate is higher and you all do not get paid no wjere near us. Which brings me to my other point. In 2008 the housing market drop, all of these other states suffered greatly and places closed down, Dac and its suburbia did not..qe falter a little but we stayed open. And after that according to the statistics in the city paper, 6000 people per week moved to the DC area because of the high paying jobs and stability of the workforce here. Which makes sense this is the heart of the federal government. With that being said.. why don't all of you all that complain about DC go back to wjere you come from.and stay there? I bet you won't because you know you won't be as financially affluent as if you stayed here. I have never met agenersti9n of people that cy and bitch and complain about every little thing when the power is really in your hands. What power? LEAVE! Go back from where you came instead of crying about it. Most folks places got bad ish the difference is, you all grew up there so to you all it's ok cause you accepted it. You can not come to another city or state and expect it to be like home. If that is the case.. why leave your home state? And to me that is the stupidest ish I heard. You are 2, 4, 6 hours and even 600 to 200 miles away from home and expect it to be like home or similar? Really? Get gone.
Moved here with my mother as a teen. This was 1988. DC has its highs and lows. Overall it’s has so many highs even if you don’t have a lot of money. This is why I live in Montgomery County
I was born and raised in DC. I moved to the south 24 years ago and I still visit because I have close friends there. The traffic is insane. It is a beautiful city. Great night life.
Born and raised just outside. I've moved away a lot, but I keep coming back. While I in general believe the DMV is an amazing place to visit, but a horrible place to live, you do a great job of being fair to the area. Good pros and reasonable cons. A good job on the video.
The food thing isn't just DMV. It's a lot of big cities. i felt the same way when I was in Atlanta. Instagram, but food quality was subpar but overpriced. U r telling no lies about the allergies. i never had allergies until I moved to the DMV. And the cicadas situation is wild, lol 😂

Great video. Very accurate. Been on the MD side for over 40 years. Proximity is one of the best advantages. It can't be beat unless you want to travel to the West Coast all of the time.
I will agree with some of this, but this is a 4 season area…so you will get Spring, Summer, Fall & Winter. We do have many great food establishments (and yes I’ve traveled to many places). You just need to explore more. Enjoy!

Thanks for this informative video. I visit DC quarterly but otherwise work out of my house in L.A., so I appreciated getting to learn about the city where my office/desk is located.
As a multi generational native of the area, who knew what the Old DC, Chocolate City was....please do not move to DC or DC adjacent. Its overcrowded already, the area is being overrun, and will soon turn into NYC. Its not sustainable for every US city to be NYC. Please go and build up rural America in Utah or something.
And people tend to forget dc was a swamp area . This is why the bugs are crazy. I cannot wait to move out of here. Now that my grandparents have died I’m officially ready to leave my hometown
Born and raised here and they scammed everyone into moving here . I have a feeling there will be mass exodus and all these apts n houses will be vacant. This has happened before. Dc is not what it used to be. There were many good food spots but they all disappeared after 9/11 and it got worse once Obama got in office and it’s no shade
As soon as the businesses find out Fed workers getting increase in cost of living (COLA), they’ll raise their prices. The only time an individual makes out is the their own STEP increase/raise.
Just moved to DMV from Ga, live in Silver spring work in DC, and you tell no lies. Food scene mid, traffic insane, weather is 50/50, but through all of that DC and Silver Spring MD beautiful and phenomenal cities
