Yes. The amda® is a skeletal anchorage device for bi- or unilateral distalization and / or mesialization of upper molars, depending on how it is mounted. The telescope has an internal stainless steel spring, which has to be fully compressed (closed), when all molar teeth are to be moved. With the fully closed spring the maximum spring travel is 4 mm and the maximum spring force is 4.7 N (approx. 470 g). Please also see our instructions for use on our homepage.
@@DENTAURUM-Company thanks for answer. Could the device also be used to mesialize the molars by using less force? How does one use it to move a molar more than 4 mm? Will the device retract the maxilla as there would be an opposing force from the screws attached in the maxilliary bone?
@@stefanstolt3100 Could the device also be used to mesialize the molars by using less force? The force can be determined by the distance the inner spring is compressed. Usually a higher force is required to move the molars. But by moving only one molar after the other less force can be used as to move 2 molars. How does one use it to move a molar more than 4 mm? When the maximum movement has been achieved the appliance can be reactivated by moving the telescope accordingly and reactivating the spring as described in the instructions for use. Please take care that the amda arms are kept long enough and not be cut too short, because the length is required 5.4.2 Mesialization with amda® amda® was designed for distalization. However, the appliance can also be used for bi- or unilateral mesialization (Fig. 8). In addition, amda® can be used to distalize one jaw side and mesialize the other side. For mesialization, turn the amda® telescope 180° and place it on the amda® palatal arch again. The stop screw with the thinner telescope tube is then on the posterior end. The right amda® connector must be replaced by the left connector and vice versa. Follow the same steps to adapt, incorporate, monitor, and remove amda® as above. To activate mesialization, tighten the posterior stop screw after activating it and loosen the anterior stop screw (now on the larger telescopic tube). Will the device retract the maxilla as there would be an opposing force from the screws attached in the maxilliary bone? The opposing force does not come into action as it is prevented through the anchorage achieved by the mini-pins.

Bonjour Philippe, Veuillez trouver ci-aprés un moyen simple et efficace pour solutioner le problème d’odeur au niveau de l’écarteur. Les solutions que vous avez déja trouvé restent valables et peuvent être répétees et complétées par l’utilisation de carbonate de sodium (levure chimique de cuisine). La levure en poudre sera mélangée à de l’eau tiède (pas chaude). Lorsque la prothèse n’est pas portée, elle sera placée dans le mélange est permettra un nettoyage de toutes les zones. Rincer abondamment à l’eau avant mise en bouche. En espérant avoir pu vous aider, Cordialement.
What is the difference between/ advantages of this procedure and other distalizers on adult patients? My orthodontist wants me to get it but I'm scared of possible complications (MRSA). It is an implant after all and in the mouth of all places.

It works 24 hours, so normally the treatment can be completed swiftly. It is hygienic and comfortable for the patient in comparison to other treatment solutions. Also it is comparatively easy to fit and easy to remove.
