Oh no! - At which part? If it is at the throw you want to make a muscle first and make sure the yo-yo string is set up over the top. That way once it is released, it will slide right off of your finger and it should go straight down! Let us know if you have any other questions! :)
You can, but it won't return back to your hand unless you do a bind! - You could also afterwards, land it on your finger (fingerspin) and then perform a fingerspin bind!
If your yo-yo bounces when you try to sleep, try disassembling your yo-yo, take the string off the axle, and widen the loop by untwisting the string more. This just did wonders for mine
