Hey Brad, just curious... Have you tried them with the unit's batteries more depleted? Wondering if charging was throttled down with the higher battery percentage.🤷 Sorry if that's a dumb thing to ask, I'm only into this solar thing for a little over a year. Love your content brother. Be safe all.🙏
I have not had a chance to do anything else with them. I will say I thought they did pretty decent. I pretty much consider 75% - 80% of rated not bad. It's not easy to get 100% because they rate solar panels at STC (Standard Test Conditions) Look up STC for solar panels. Thanks, and glad you enjoy the content!
So, in theory, I only need battery input and generator input to make this thing work. No grid power necessarily needed to get it to output general 120v usage.
There seems to be two versions. One with the smart BMS that seems to be capable of higher current, and the other one you're mentioning perhaps. BTW you can have over 1C rate charge/discharge, just depends on the cells used, BMS, etc.. Thanks
Sorry if this is very obvious but if the cells are placed in parallel and just charged, would they not eventually balance? Because while cell A and cell B might be 3.2V but very different SOC -- once cell A reaches 3.65V faster, wouldn't a significant current start to flow between them because their voltages are now farther apart i.e charge curve is steeper at the ends?
Probably around 6-7 hours. It just depends on the temps outside, and how high you crank the AC up. I've had this AC run around 16 hours on a battery of similar size before. Thanks
I have the EG4 3KW inverter but was thinking of buying the 48 /1200 Victron also. Would you happen to know if it can run a full size fridge with a 120V 7.2 amp draw? This is about 828 watts when the compressor kicks in. The EG4 inverter is a power hog and consumes about 1KW of power in idle mode. I wanted something more efficient, but did not want to buy it without knowing if it will handle the surge when the compressor turns on. Thank you and great video by the way.
The bracket is not really mounted to the glass, I just have a 1x4 board that is sandwiched between the bracket, and the glass to spread the load out. Also on the top where the window seal is, theres a channel/groove that the top part of the bracket fits in. Thanks
LOL, that would be nice. But I have a Mon through Fri job, I take lunch in the afternoon when I hit a stopping point at my normal job. Then as you can see I work on these videos on my lunch break, and my in other spare time. Thanks
Nice unit Brad. Sturdy at 103 lbs. Thanks for pointing out the apparent short fall of the charger. Be interested in finding out why it was 18A rather than 22A. Perhaps the manufacturers can chime in on this?

Once the defrost heating coils comes on, power draw will increase by about 10 fold. How often and how long the heater stays on will be the big determining factor in how long the battery runs the fridge.
