This was completely unintentional (the first time haha) . It might also have something to do with the new tires being more grippy and heavier?
@@peterGriffin-ug7jv if you find out, let me know! This one cost me $300, but I already ordered a v1.1 from makerfire when they were running their coupon for $230 shipped! Join the 10208 Facebook Group to follow details!
@CQuiick I would say they're matched for durability at both being really, really tough. The 2997a is more likely to break in stock form id say though because it's so much faster
@CQuiick honestly these hbx cars are like tanks and crash/ durability related breakages are almost rare. These things usually develope wear related issues from getting so much use before you have to worry about breaking plastics
Thank you for this honest feedback which is made by someone who knows about RC. The biggest flaw for me is the suspension travel which is really too small, I hope this is corrected in V2.
MJX are 90% the way there with their tiny trucks. I have 4 and 2 are parts only cars now due to driveline issues, but they were driven hard, one was modified and crazy fast, yet controllable. This truck will likely suffer some growing pains in the hands of consumers. But, I am sort of curious why they are approaching the market this way, its like they have made you the test engineer since this is only v1 and V2 is coming soon. Did they ask you for any instrumentation or data measurements? I am really curious about the axle/half shaft reliability. Even on my small MJXs they bend. Seems like they may have also been concerned with it since they decided to use a noticeablely small and quite flexible tire. A strain gauge or torque monitor would easily help the engineers understand durability loads. MJX make the gearing a bit too low in my opinion, but i think it is because of the weak driveline.
Petri Palonkoski MJX hasnt asked me for any feedback on this truck. When I originally bought it, i wasn't aware this was a "v1" or anything out of the ordinary, I thought i just bought the new hyper go. This has been an odd release for sure, I first heard of a v2/ change potential from a popular RU-vidr about a week after I recieved this full price (what i thought was a) retail truck. Since learning of a v2, I've done lots of research and have been sharing in the Official Hyper Go 10208 by MJX Facebook Group. Thanks for watching and sharing!
Is there a servo, esc, receiver that you would suggest installing on the h14bm? My daughter's is beginning to have an electric burning smell and all I can tell is that nothing plastic is burning so I'm ganna get extras in preparation for breaking? And at that point is it worth getting a different controller?
Honestly, those are all three great things to upgrade. Especially the esc to get rid of the lag, and the steering will be so much better. Here's my recommendations: Inexpensive but good transmitter/ reciever: a.aliexpress.com/_mt57NZm Best transmitter/ receiver: a.aliexpress.com/_mObHETO Esc: 45a good a.aliexpress.com/_mNm23Ti 50a better a.aliexpress.com/_mL61xMy Servo: Good and comes with Servo saver a.aliexpress.com/_mr9w2ug Better a.aliexpress.com/_m0uWLcG
@stevenblackard2204 I haven't heard of many burnt up motors in these. I personally think the motor is good and bordering on too fast already. People do enjoy having a gyro option and it's nice that you can turn it on or off at any time. The dumbo recievers with a "g" in the part number have it built in.
@armandopace6113 yeah I was super excited and not disappointed! They don't have all the kinks out quite yet and she's not super refined, but sure is a hoot and takes a beating!
Neat little truck. I hope the address the few issues. I'm in no rush to buy it right now. I played this pre order game with Rlaarlo. I'll pick one up off Amazon a couple weeks after launch at a discount. I hope they sell a bunch and decide to keep building bigger trucks and buggies.
Hey man I promise I'm not looking to sell you anything, but this truck was only available for $290 shipped when I first bought, and they've raised it to $300. Well currently makerfire is advertising $250 and they're offering a 7% discount I found through Google putting this truck at $230 shipped. Honestly a steal at that price. Fwiw. Omni Terminator all over again for me.
Yes, I made a mistake in that video. The mount is adjustable to fit 12,13,14,15t pinions, and comes with a 12t. More detail can be found at 20:44 in this video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QKu4fdbtn8Q.htmlsi=eyEvFg_GPCgRKR-K
@@VoltUpRC Ooooh! That's great news! Because the top speed of 47-50mph is a bit lacking compared to their 14210 which does 45mph out of the box. Going from 12T to 15T would mean up to 25% more top speed! Which brings it around 60mph and that's quite impressive!! Or 100kph :) Thank you for showing that motor mount close up in the other video.
Yes it does! The gyro is in the reciever, and any dumbo reciever with a "g" in the part number is a gyro reciever. I'm using an x6dcg in this truck, but have not needed nor tried the gyro function.

I remember you replied to me that If.. there was a throttle (esc) delay, it could be fixed with the app. Idk if its a transmitter or receiver or esc problem, but in some rc's (like the 1/16th scale hypergos), you can press the throttle on say a quarter of a full press on throttle, and keep your finger there, and the rc would never respond.. that being a dead zone (as opposed to throttle delay being it would eventually go). Is there a dead zone on this rc? Thx if answer!👍
Yes it works absolutely fine and is very serviceable. The range isn't even all that bad, I just had trouble when driving it away from me at ~50mph. Its so fast it can get out of range quick. Check out the video here at around 2:50 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-3bA9305OwNg.htmlsi=qWIPJVyh7TB2YS1u
Having the MJX 14210 V2 with a such a big range, using what appears to be the same transmitter, why would the 10208 perform worse than a previous model?
For the body mount clip all you could have done was drilled two small pinholes and then attached a spring It looks like it would have been very easy to do
That's kind of like what I did, but it can't have a pull spring anywhere, as there's a ton of obstructions under the body around the shock tower. A spring would likely interfere with getting the body on. The only way to add a pull spring would be on the exterior, which I was trying to avoid.

this is MAD..1/10 MJX.......and im certainly gonna get it.....ive perfected my 1/16 mjx the way ive wanted it...i honestly enjoy this kit...after almost a year of bashing ..the steering links busted..Ackerman went loose..ive change the spur and bevel set from the 1/14 mjx to my 1/16 hypergo since the original ones stripped due to all time 3s load....i did some suspension tuning..400cst oil shocks and upgraded spring from the original with abit harder rate..throw in proline caliber rubbers...radiolink radio. & HW 16BL30 esc....and it runs, responded great on offroad tracks... kindly take a peek....thanks..... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-IciHSOw-rck.html
I have the 2997a and couldn't be happier with it. When I want to do some bashing around outside but not drive to the park to run my Sledge it's perfect. I can launch it and it just keeps going.
I really like how beefy the drive shafts are on all 3 trucks. I would think the Granite is an accurate 1/10 scale and the Hyper Go is as well. It would cost a small fortune to upgrade a Granite to match what comes stock on the HyperGo. I only own a 3s Granite but I must say it's survived quite a bit and if something breaks a local hobby store usually has what you need. The HyperGo is a beauty for sure and I bet it's faster than the Granite. Very nice comparison. Thanks for sharing. 👍🏆🏆🏁🏁
Disregard my comment on tye size comparison video. I didnt realize that was a older video and you had others with the speed test and what not. That thing seems like a little beast and 47mph is pretty damn good. How does the truck compare to the Omni? I know its bigger but other than that what are some of the major differences?
The omni terminator is all around a "better" truck, it has a lot more suspension travel, is much silkier in feel, and has adjustable motor mount, plus a ton of rlaarlo factory upgrades available. However, the omni terminator is microscopic in comparison, has a nearly unusable stock esc due to excessive braking that can't be programmed out, and they suffer from terrible diff cup wear that currently has no true solution. The mjx is a "cruder", larger, and I'd trust much more durable bash machine where the omni terminator is a more refined precision piece. Personally, I feel their apples to oranges, my Terminator is too nice to sling off a half pipe into the woods, and I keep it on the shelf because I don't want to tear up more diff cups. The mjx LOVES being heavy and tough and thrown around.
@VoltUpRC I have a cf terminator with all the (imo) necessary and usefull upgrades so I see what you are saying. I love the terminator but I would cry if I took it to a skate park and beat the shit out of it like I do my maxx. After watching the mjx seems like small maxx more than a large omni lol either way I want one!
Really nice breakdown on both of these trucks. Well done! I too have both of these and couldn’t agree more on how excellent they are. I have run my 903a on 3s without any smoking, but like you, I still don’t recommend doing it as mine was a bit glitchy from the over voltage. I do recommend a hi cap 2s though to give this much more punch than the stock battery and a slightly higher top end. Great job! Definitely subbing you dude!💪🏽😎👍🏻🙌
Great video that popped up on my feed. I've actually been looking at both of these online wanting to get one and this video has definitely help sway me in the direction of which one to go with. I actually have a guy about 45 minutes away from me that I found on Facebook marketplace who also sells new and refurbished HBX cars and I'm highly considering messaging him as he has the 2997a for $130 brand new.
Glad I could help! There isn't/ wasn't anything else out there comparing them when i was looking! Thanks for watching! YT said you replied to my mjx size comparison video but I assume your talking about my hbx 1/12 comparison video
@@VoltUpRC yes that is what I was referring to lol. The video ended and the MJX started playing right as I hit send so I think that's how it happened. I am super stoked for that 1/10 MJX though!
@@VoltUpRC I do feel like a good comparison for the MJX would have to be the new Traxxas Stampede 4x4 VXL or the old Hoss (same exact truck though). It has a center diff, 4s rated motor, and similar size.
Man truck seems tuff as rusty nails. I’d put a piece of foam in where the body clips to chasis. Not sure how it works but that’s what I did on my granite grom when my body kept popping off and it really kept it inline for me. I have been waiting on this truck to come out for like 3months since I seen the leaked pics of it. Can’t wait to get mine. By the way that skatepark is set up pretty nice for rc-ing. Thanks for the vid.
The comparisons are interesting. In principle, the natural rival is the Rlaarlo but it is clear that it is smaller but it looks good and, like the MJX, it seems quite well made. The Arrma model, although it is already a veteran, is well designed and has in its favor the support of a recognized brand with good after-sales service and against that it needs to make some improvements. These types of models operate at a price level in Europe of €250 to €400 and the question arises between a cheaper Chinese brand and better equipped as standard or a more expensive recognized manufacturer but with more presence in the market and better basic quality. . I opted for a Team Magic E5 on my monster 1/10.
another good video 👍 I would really like to see a video from this about Wltoys 124008. Because it is actually an MJX 1/12 scale clone. So an mjx clone from wltoys in 1/12 🤯😎... I would be really interested to hear what you say about the buggy and how you would upgrade it. ✌
Hey thanks for letting me know about this! I had heard of the 124008 but didn't realize it was based off the mjx chassis.... cool! I'll see what I can do.
Thanks for the videos on this new truck Subscriber 151 here! Liked the video as well to help out. Know you are new, work on keeping the truck in the frame for know that can be tough to do but with time and more videos I'm sure you'll get better at that.
Thanks for the feedback and support! This is my first time with a camera strapped to my head, gotta learn to move my whole head and not just my eyes lol! Having a blast though! Keep on RC'ing!
@@VoltUpRC yeah, can tell it’s tough to do camera work and drive at the same time. One RU-vidr has his go pro setup on their head so they can sorta look up and see what is in that frame.l to help with this. I wish I could recall who to was that said that but watch a lot of different videos so don’t recall lol
