The suspension is fine. Tight around corners but it handles bumps and potholes fine. she’s a new driver so how ‘lively’ it is, is more of a concern! It really does want to go at all times.
That sucks in the uk I live in Canada we have no joule restriction just a "whatever you shoot needs to be under 500 fps or you need a pal" so use heavy rounds is key my launcher is modified to around 60 joules with the Z Ram V2's its a great plinker but boy you wouldent wanna get shot by one of these, however were not really allowed to defend our selves here too its like were always suppose to let ourselves fall to let the system do its thing as if our lives mean nothing life did not evolve that way and no system will not allow me to defend my own life punish me or not.
Ah well that's put payed to me buying an immaculate 2007 sport HSE, new tyres, all the belts just done and full service history but when I listened to problem with air suspension I'm now going to bail and keep my 2004 Cayenne S that I've had for fourteen years with few problems. Cheap to run since basically it's a Volkswagen and that's the difference between that and a Range Rover. The low and high pressure fuel pumps went, think it was £400 and £800 from Porsche but of course the same pumps from Volkswagen were £80 and £120. if you don't have friends in the trade don't buy a Porsche, since servicing is a fortune but if you friends that are good mechanics (mates prices) then it's cheap as chips but the same can be said for any high end car.
It’s not too bad… benefits of no guns is that they’re rarely used outside of gang crimes. Means for the everyday man we don’t have to worry about guns being used against us… just the knives! 😂
I have 2 of these. I love them. I have one in 2 tone blue that I've had for years before I was able to get a non blue one and it still packs a punch. I now have one with a chrome slide, a custom spring and a custom valve. I used those 'steel rubber' 50 balls. I put it through my chrono. Oh my.
This HDR 50 is not a baby Geeza; if you load it out with 50 Cal lead rounds (I know there are various types of ammo for it) it will go through some punk's skull, cannot believe folk are saying that this a shit weapon for home defence
Not useless if the intent is scare intruder - no one wants to be fired upon at first glance and a good 80% will run out thinking it will kill them - even at first crack (it hurts). Pepper ball (if can be obtained) will definitely stop someone, so title is incorrect.
Your UK law is ridiculous. In Czech republic we can own and even carry firearms for personal protection. It is only necessary to pass the test and get license. As a result, we have one of the safest countries in the world.
i bought the gen 5 and took it back for the gen 4 spare mags to smooth it over.. it was not made very well..and the trigger didnt restore easily light thin tinny metal, gen 4 all day
3.54 Kilograms is the weight of the R1 is 6.2 pounds I don’t know if I’m just American or somthing but the R1 is heavier? Also what’s the build quality on both which one is better?
From my research r1 is roughly 2kg different sites report different weights. The sbr weight about 4.5 kgs so it’s over twice as heavy. Build quality is the same. The polymer used is high quality on both it just depends what weight you prefer. You’ll be able to have longer sessions with the r1 but I have a sling on my sbr so I don’t have to hold it the whole time.
Justin, going by your video dates, you’ve had your Gen 4 for just two months and broken it already? Hey did you need to replace the seals? Was there an issue with the original?
@@TheBionicGolfer I used it a lot! Almost every day for two weeks and that when I first noticed my seals were leaking, about 2/3 weeks in. The issue is the main seal in this gasket is not made from rubber but instead something that seems a lot like a plastic disc. Plastic is not as flexible as rubber and goes brittle quickly especially considering the constant exposure to freezing cold co2, also using BB gun oil etc has zero effect on the plastic as they’re designed to condition rubber. Basically poor design. Umarex returned to rubber seals on the gen 5 thankfully.

One thing I noticed that you didn’t mention was anything about being able to field strip the Gen 4 down? I recently ordered, what I thought was, a Gen 4. However, when it arrived it was a Gen 5 and I realised it didn’t do all the things I was looking for, such as stripping down, lock back on empty, and the things you’ve just gone through. To be honest I was actually very disappointed in the difference between the Gen 5 and 4. I hadn’t done nearly enough research before jumping into the purchase, and the website I went to didn’t specify which Generation it was. If I had done my research I would have known that there isn’t, to my knowledge anyway, a dual ammo Umarex Gen 4. I immediately organised a return, and I’m now waiting on delivery of a Gen 4. The only downside is that the Gen 4 is BB only. A small price to pay though, in my opinion anyway. I just hope that the Gen 4, firing BBs, will be as accurate as my Beretta PX4 Storm dual ammo. The Beretta was less than half the price of the Glock, so I really hope so. Thank you again.
Glad you managed to get the one you wanted! You may be disappointed in its accuracy and power. It’s not awful but it’s certainly not best in class. For me that’s the one let down by I overcome it by using it at a shorter distance. Also aiming at larger targets like tin cans you won’t notice any issues but if you plan to do more challenging shots at smaller targets then it won’t be that great. It’s a plinker and it does that very well.
Saw, grind, sand, and paint the buttstock. Remove the muzzle and add an m16 extended barrel with 5 hole muzzle. Add a spacer in between the upper and lower receiver to stop it from rattling. This mod will also eliminate misfire as it allows the mag to align more perfectly with the barrel. Add a red dot with a magnifier. I'm actually doing a mod where I'll have a working forward assist. I've had this gun for over 3 years and it hasn't skipped a beat! Gave it a little oiling today and it feels like the day I took it out the box. Best airgun I've ever owned. You cannot tell it apart from a real M4
If my safety is on the line, especially in a potentially lethal situation, I'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission. Allowing something to happen to me based on what the law states allows me no opportunity for asking for forgiveness. For me, that's enough said.
Nice + I really like the design of the magazine. it's just too bad it's .43 cal, which makes it a no go for me for non-lethal defense or paintball game use, however, I totally get it was designed to be authentic for LE & Military training. That said, if they offered a .50 or .68 calber version, I'd buy a couple in a heartbeat!!
Nice, thanks for the tip on the obd scanner. I was pretty impressed with the built in infotainment tbh… but I did have SUPER LOW expectations 😂. It’s not the quickest but it’s not too bad for its age. I’ve used the navigation a few times as I drive a lot for work and it’s gotten me there with no issues every time. also my Bluetooth audio always syncs so for me as long as the navigation works and my music works I’m happy 😊
I just brought mine a week ago, low mileage, brilliant car, no issues so far. I just had new stereo upgraded to Apple CarPlay wireless touch screen and it changed experience better than the outdated unconnect system. 👍 Great review, said what I was thinking. Apparently it suffers from common electrical faults, but can be fixed easily. If you get issues invest in a ODB LinkMX device with Multiescan app and coloured ODB cables you can easily fix digital failings simply on your own. I had to do this to stop mileage annoyingly flashing, because I removed the Blue&me device, to update stereo system.
Shame about the spineless UK laws... if someone breaks into your property and may harm you, they should be fair game for whatever reprisal they invite upon themselves
If my research is correct, a 9mm NATO round generates about 400 ft lbs of force, or approx. 500 joules. If a court/judge finds that modifying an 11 joule paint ball gun up to a 30 joule non-lethal/less-lethal self defense tool is considered excessive, I would have to question the judgement of that Judge. Just my opinion.
