Small, kinda weird, possibly imaginary. Just like a jackalope!
I read a lot of fantasy and mystery, but I enjoy a pretty broad variety of genres, including classics, historical fiction, a bit of horror, thrillers, and sci-fi. I'm trying to tackle the massive goal of reading my entire physical tbr.
I tend to mostly lean towards the cosy side of things on days with miserable weather. My go-to series is "The No. 2 Feline Detective Agency" by Mandy Morton. 😆
There were so many books on mine that I'd completely forgotten existed 😂 The clear out definitely helped at least in bringing those back into my awareness
I've been meaning to pick it up for ages, and I'm excited to give it a try. I've read several other mixed media mysteries lately that were good, so I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for this one
I hope you like A Strange and SE, low magic, very political fantasy. Please read the content warnings or skip the rest of chapter two when you feel the creeps It's a nice depiction of resilience and second chances in life
I've definitely heard the first few chapters have some really difficult content, so I will be careful when I start the book! I don't really know what to expect going in, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed I like it. It seems like a lot of people really enjoyed ASaSE
Just wanted to say I love the curtains 😀I recently watched you at my work laptop where I am not allowed to comment, so saying it at least now, a bit late 🤣
I feel what you mean with the slumpiness. I am on my 2nd book of the month (May). I liked what you did with the d6 & d20. It seems like a fun way to choose your TBR.
Fingers crossed we both have a better time in June! 🤞Glad you enjoyed the dice rolling! I find it to be really fun and it definitely helps with indecisiveness
For me, ankle bug bites are usually from chiggers! They are little bugs that live in grass (usually taller grass, but they can sometimes be found in residential lawns). You can spray a little bug repellent on your ankles to deter them if you know you're going to be walking on grass.
Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely remember that about the bug spray. I don't think it's chiggers because I haven't been out in the grass at all (I'm like the least outdoorsy person I know 😅) and they're not red like chiggers typically are, but I think it's something related based on the type of bites. I have, luckily, located the source and started the process of dealing with them, so things are looking up!
I’m going to be reading Grace of Kings as the first book in a series prompt and I’m really pumped about it (also slightly intimidated because of the length).
Oh, good pick! I've heard great things about Grace of Kings, and I read the first few chapters a while back and thought it was really interesting. Fingers crossed you enjoy it! 🤞
I think my auto-buy authors are Naomi Novik, Rebecca Roanhorse, P Djeli Clark, Ann Leckie, and SA Corey. I'm nervous about reading Stephen Graham Jones. I like supernatural and folk horror, but I've seen his books more compared to slashers.
Ooh, good list! I haven't read Ann Leckie or SA Corey yet, but I've heard good things, and I love the others you mentioned. I think a lot of Stephen Graham Jones' books are slashers, but I think if you wanted to give his work a shot you'd probably be fine starting with Mongrels (definitely not a slasher, more a coming-of-age story with some gore) or Mapping the Interior (I haven't read this one yet, but my understanding is it's a ghost story). He also has an Audible original, The Babysitter Lives that's much more supernatural
I’m glad I came across this video. I’m 1/3 of the way through and wanted spoilers to see if it was worth finishing. Now I can easily DNF and move on. Thanks
I love that getting into junji ito his artwork is awesome also I think you will find enjoyment in reading blame for its unique world building 👷♀️ 😀 and as a bonus I don't if this story is true or not but I find it very interesting and very disturbing have you heard or read a manga called psd radio 😮the backstory of the manga artist I think you might want to read as well
I haven't heard of Blame, I'll have to check it out! I think I've heard of PTSD Radio, and it sounds super creepy. It's definitely on my list to try! 😁
Trust me the backstory of the artist himself is equally as disturbing its said he had to cancel writing the psd radio for the fact he was cursed by writing the story's I don't know if you actually believe in curses but it's said that's the reason why he stopped making the series because of a curse 🤔 🤷
So i remember Runyx getting in trouble because she apparently generated her cover rather than actually editing or getting pictures, but is this a new cover? I feel like this is a new cover Neeeevermind, you just answered my question-
I think this is a new cover on the trad pub version. I wasn't aware that there was an AI-related issue with the indie cover, but somehow I'm not surprised 😂 I probably wouldn't have noticed that this cover was AI generated (I didn't look at it that closely), but I saw emmaskies on TikTok made a couple of in-depth videos about it
I did a little bit of research on the Scribe before buying the ReMarkable, and I ultimately chose the ReMarkable because it seemed like the reviews for the Scribe weren't great (although that may have changed now that the device has been out for a little while), and because I was more interested in note-taking than reading. I already have a Kindle Paperwhite, so I didn't necessarily need another device for reading. Also, it's way easier to add PDFs to the ReMarkable, and since I read a lot of articles for school, that feature is particularly helpful.
Good use, I use mine for school and work also. I add school PDF’s. Glad you are enjoying it. I’ve had a mine reMarkable as a pre-order 2020, so long term user. Just remember it is a NOTEBOOK replacement and compliments your other devices. It’s not an iPad or e-reader although you can read on it very well so far from the epubs I’ve added.
