The reason I haven't platinumed Yakuza 7, kiwami, or kiwami 2 (the only ones I've played) is because I refuse to learn shogi, mahjong, koi koi etc. If it was 1 or 2 games I gotta learn I'd do it but there's just so many mini games that expect me to know some board games or gambling games in order to play them and I just don't feel like learning them lmao. I admit they're probably all super easy to learn, I just simply don't feel like it
I haven't played Gaiden, but as I can see it it's to spice up the gameplay and the amount of moves to make more appealing gameplay possible. For example consider if Devil May Cry 5 didn't have as many moves as it does, and only had the most effective ones, if you wanted to minmax damage output you'd end up doing the same moves over and over, but people don't do that, because they want to see and do appealing gameplay. I'm pretty sure it's kinda the same in Gaiden
Lmfao that comment about Yakuza Like a Dragon was on point, the skills in that game are so amateurishly designed (especially with the power displays not being even remotely accurate)
I haven't heard the Chinese dub until now and wow it's actually real damn good. Especially with the English. So much better than the Japanese dub's English scenes.
When I played LAD 8 I played it in English and absolutely didn't know the the line was supposed to be bon voyage instead of Hui hoi so I said it to a bunch of people not realizing I was exposing myself as a dub enjoyer Side note edit:I wish there was a mode where only Kiryu was in Japanese because that was the only VA I didn't enjoy in the dub
The customization I noticed was either ripped directly from, or inspired by Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, which I played an ungodly amount because Sega doesn’t give a damn about Virtua Fighter
Something I do really like about Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth is that stats are definitely more tied to the job, rather than the character, meaning you can actually make Adachi useful.
Good on you for talking about the dubs. I’m fine with hearing things in Japanese. But I try to use English dubs when possible to be better immersed. I honestly was interested in how the English characters in IW would sound in different dubs.
Ironically after a certain point of the story of the man who erased his name I found the serpent(rocket boots) extremely useful for easy and safe damage for the castle battles
Man the Police Officer (forgot his name honestly) in LaD IW had an INSANELY good Japanese VA that was able to give such an incredibly good English performance! Also now im ever so slightly pissed i played the Japanese dub because WOW English dub Bryce is so, soooo good...while the JP dub was absolutely awful for Bryce. But i absolutely refuse to listen to that shitstain voicing our boy Kiryu in English dub. Kiryu deserved better than that prick Yongyea.
8:25 As someone who hasn't played Infinite Wealth, I was actually thinking that the Hype Meter tag team is kind of a nerf, because I don't know how fast Hype generation is, and the tag team skills from LaD were always a reliable and cheap source of massive damage
